'what world am I in'

It sounds good, but...

You can just add a nearby player and and you can easily see what world you are in. Just to let you know.

Again, what if there's no one around? I frequently find myself the only player in the Hobgoblin Mine, and so I never know what world I'm on; I also go to the least populated world, so I'm almost always on a different world.

Having the Friends List tell me what world I'm on would be a great help, especially since I switch worlds whenever a pk team gets too close. Nothing more embarassing than logging back into the same world I just left!

Thats not a good idea. Im a F2P and my friend list is full. So if I want to add somebody to find out whatg world Im in I have to delete a friend. besides, showing what world ure in is much morem conveniant and easier.

What wozfe said, just add someone that is by you to your friend list, see what world they are in, and then remove them?

True, but wouldn't this be far more convenient? Especially if there's no-one around.

I hardly think it would take a week to add in either.

wot if private chat is off

Two things for those saying just add someone in public chat

Number 1.

Some people have full friends lists. My friends list fluctuates between 99 and 100 people, its not that convenient to add people. This isn't so bad for me as I play on the same world most of the time, but some people don't.

Number 2.

Sometimes no-one is around. This applies to me when I'm rune mining in lvl 46 wild. By the time I log in my scout, log out of my scout, log in my miner, mine ore, I have forgotten which world I am in. As I have a system for world selecting, I probably visit the same world again within a few minutes.

This isn't the only situation. Once I logged in at about the quitest time of day. I was alone in fally east bank. Yes really.

This update would be great, one of the more sensible suggestions I have seen here, it actually makes sense to put it in.

Despite of being easy to add new people to the friends list, this idea should be added, in fact it wouldnt take a lot of jagex time, they only have to "name" each server and then make java detect the server source name. Piece of cake ;).
