How it will work The Graphics team will be split into 3 catagories: Abstract/Grunge Pixel 3D/Other (Possibly) Then send me an appliction via PM using this form: Name: Catagory: Examples: Why: Availability: Once I recieve a few applications I will create a members list split into the 3 catagories. What it will do This team will just be a community within a community. Creating and sharing graphics will be a part of it but the biggest factor will be to share tutorials with each other and little tips & tricks. Also, if people are willing to do so, we can have some graphics apprenticeships, people will be able to take graphics newbies under their wing and teach them what they know. (This could be especially helpful for pixel newbies, anatomy is a hard thing to do.) People will also be able to request a signature from a member himself or just a random signature from all of the graphics members. Why? Why not? There will not be any membership fees or any compulsory work, just some good fun. It doesn't seem that much different to what the board does atm. people can request sigs from others, with give each other advice and crits, although there is a lack of good tutorials. i certainly support this sort of thing for pixel artists, as there is a massive influx of new people trying to pixel, and no offense, but some of it is really bad. i am most ready to take onboard tips and tricks from other artists though, and will teach what on no on, if it goes ahead. I think that it needs to be planned out more, and i'm sure that there will be suggestions as more people join. i think it could work, but will take alot of work, for instance how will we comunicate? if there was one topic it would be hectic, with all the different people replying for different queries. Possibley the graphics team could be like the tech-heads on the computer board, a trusted group of people that know what they are doing that would post on peoples topics in this board. they wouldn't be mods, or anything with "powers" (locking topics, editing pots etc). to be effective this would have to go through the admins for approval. a nice idea, i'm interested to know what a mod will say on the matter. Yes, this is also a reason why I added the trainee part of it. Many people post and tell them what to do but never a reasonable explanation. I think that it needs to be planned out more, and i'm sure that there will be suggestions as more people join. Again, yes. My post was merely an outline of what will happen. Members will be able to express their ideas and shape this team and not be ruled. i think it could work, but will take alot of work, for instance how will we comunicate? if there was one topic it would be hectic, with all the different people replying for different queries. I appreciate that a single post will become hectic. The single post will mainly be used for posting of new work and helpful comments. Tutorials can be posted on a seperate thread, left to die but be linked in the main thread. The way I see it is there will be 1, maybe 2, posts to start out where the members list can go, tutorial links, "signature of the week" (voted for) and things like that. We can always communicate via mIRC or IMs. I know that will be a tricky part to it but suggestions are always welcome. Yes, you've hit the nail on the head. If this is going to make sense ill use a quick example: Person X makes a big graphic (i.e. wallpaper). The graphics team can then look at it, collaborate some constructive criticism (either in their own topic or via an IM or mIRC) and post a well-thought out comment. Having a big team to constructively comment on a piece of art rather than 10 people all saying things like "its nice but work on the colours" then another person saying "Yeah, what he said" will look a lot more organised and neater.
