May 2, 200620 yr Has anyone ever heard of Whatpulse? It's a thing on your computer that counts the number of keystrokes and clicks you have, and just about every major runescape based forum has one. Here's the description from the homepage. What is WhatPulse exactly? Sure we have a fancy website, loads of stats and lotsa users, but many people still wonder what WhatPulse exactly is. This page tries to explain a bit more about what it is, a simple keycounter. The purpose of WhatPulse is simply to collect statistics about your computer behavior. Some people (Like me) use it to determine how long they've worked on something, like a programming project, a school essay, chatting by all means. How does it work? WhatPulse opens a so-called "keyhook" when it's booted, which listens to incoming Windows messages about the keyboard, the keyhook sends these messages to the program itself, and the program first determines if the key pressed is a proper key (Every standard keyboards' keys are counted) and then simply does PreviousKeyCount + 1. Pulsing: When you "pulse", you're actually sending your keycounts in the program to the server along with other information about your Account, so the server can decide where to put the keycount. If the pulse goes according to plan, the server sends back an "OK", and the client's keycount is reset to 0 (zero), and your previous keys are added to your profile in the server database! :) And for all you people who are thinking "oeh mi god a keylogger, no way!", well, exactly, No way. WhatPulse is not and never will be any sort of keylogger, it does not collect the keys you type, but only how many keys you type. (see our Privacy Policy) After you sign up, simply click on teams from the left sidebar, and choose join a team. :) Then team that I'm with is in my profile if you would like to join :D ----------------------- NOTE!!! Okay, here are some common problems regarding the uninstallation stuff. If it asks you to uninstall it first, then simply go to the Whatpulse folder located in program files and delete the what pulse.bin file, then try everything again. If you already have it on your computer and the file is corrupted, do one of the following. 1. Use the uninstaller to remove the program 2. Delete the entire what pulse folder altogether Then try re-installing it. How to use the sigs! Once you have started pulsing, go to http://pulse.offbeat-zero.net/ and sign up under the name you have used for your wp account. Then go to customize, first set the size to less than 150 x 400, preferably somewhere around 50 x 350, that should be enough, the sample one is a bit too big. Then customize it however you wish, fixing the random coordinates until they seem about right (donÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t worry, itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a lot easier than it sounds) and youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll get something like this, which you can put into your sig. The what pulse sig is automatically updated every 12 hours, so your progress can be seen by your teammates and yourself. There are thousands of combinations of backgrounds, colors, fonts. You can even add your own background if youÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d like. Also, if your computer starts to run slowly because of it, feel free to remove the program. As much as it helps the rune village team, itÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s only there for fun and thereÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s really no point in doing it if it has negative effects. ItÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s meant to be something thatÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s interesting, not a burden. Either way, thanks for helping everyone. Enjoy! My personal score is 23mil keys atm :)Oh man :? I diden't know LUElinks cheated :( spark fearow is in 22199th place. spark fearow has been a participant since 2005-08-04 (9 months ago), and in that time has typed 1,746,297 keys and clicked 2,263,422 times in total, averaging 0.07 keys and 0.1 clicks per second. This user last sent a pulse to this server on 2006-05-02 15:27:10 and has sent a total of 88 pulses overall. spark fearow lives in United States. May 2, 200620 yr Yeah, well it was very obviously... They had accounts that were registrated for like a few weeks with millions and millions of keys. Also, their forum accepts cheats, and a cheating program was found. Someone posted it up somewhere, and I tried it (just tried with 1 key) and it worked. May 3, 200620 yr I'm rank 1800ish. The program is so pointless, yet interesting. :P My friend encountered a bug once. It gave him millions of clicks and keystrokes, pushing him to #1 in the world.
