arbitor519
ok well im combat lvl 84 and my slayer is lvl 20 lol and now i got to kill 175 fire giants... is there anything from a slayer master i can buy that i can use on fire giants?
kwimbob
Well, fire giants are normal monsters that many people use to train range because of the safe spots and the "stats" of the fire giants. So you could just range/halberd them really easily with most levels. The most common place to fight fire giants is in the Waterfall Dungeon. If you really wanted to you could buy a slayer staff, slayer spear, or broad arrows to fight the fire giants with, but it really wouldn't help and would actually probably just cost way more and slow you down. Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well. And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.[hide]YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.- See You, Space Cowboy.[/hide][/hide]
Lord_Gromit
And at 20 slayer, you couldn't use those items anyway.
dogfever
If you ask the 'Got any tips for me?' option after you get your task they will always tell you if there is anything to help. If you need slayer equipment e.g. ice coolers, or salt they will tell you here. For normal monsters, i.e. non-slayer ones, I don't believe you every gain an advantage from slayer equipment (unless you're using slayer dart obviously). They also give you other tips such as using poison on trolls etc. (which is a rubbish idea btw :D ) df
henk333
They also give you other tips such as using poison on trolls etc. (which is a rubbish idea btw :D ) df Using poison on trolls isn't that bad an idea. When I get a Troll task I bring both a whip and a dds, so when my spec bar allows it I dds spec the troll, then switch to my whip. Even if I spec double 0 the poison kicks in a little later, pretty much every troll you hit once with a dds gets poisoned. On topic: Your lucky with this assignment, Fire Giants are great slayer xp, 111 each I think. 111 * 175 = 19425 xp, you won't be 20 slayer for long  You don't need any special equipement to kill them, although ranging them is adviced because they can hit 11 and do so quite often. In the waterfall dungeon are good safe spot for range, but it's often very crowded. Haven't played RuneScape since 12 january 2007 and it feels great :)
dogfever
Fair enough. I find its usually closer to 75% poison success for me. Plus even at 76 cb I manage to kill them before the poison (s) does more than 12 damage. With a whip you must be through them a fair bit quicker than me (d long :? ) as well. Like anything though, personal preference. :) df
Platinum_Myr
that depends on the troll your fighting... there ARE harder trolls ya know. Maxed since Sunday, January 9th, 2014Completionist since Wednesday, June 4th, 2014
dogfever
I am well aware of that but I doubt that at 84 cb he's going to be killing Rock and Stick 150+ times for an assignment. df

kwimbob
i haevnt done it yet and im 86 combat now with full veracs should i bring my veracs to them or just rune armor.... should i bring a cannon? They're easy to range/halberd. If you're going to melee them full on, you should bring the verac so you're not hit as much. They don't have much armor really, so the set effect won't do much, just use a whip if possible. They also seem to have higher defence *Not by much though*
