I got bloodvelds as slayer assignment. So I study a map of the Mansion, shinny up the [bleep]y chain since I have agility 61 and figure the short cut will get me to the bloodvelds quicker and *whammo* I'm hit fairly rapidly by these Aberrant Specters. I try going back down, but I don't have agility 61 anymore, so I prot melee (turns out magic would have been better) and teleport the heck outta there. I almost died!

 

 

 

I'm only slayer 51, so the nosepeg won't work on the Abberant Specters. I'm wondering whether having prot magic on before I go up the [bleep]y chain would keep me from losing hp and skill levels.

 

 

 

Any advice on how to deal with Aberrant Specters, Bloodvelds and anything else I might encounter in the Mansion, would be most appreciated, including the location of any range-safe or halberd-safe spots when fighting them. I understand bloodvelds are vulnerable to stab attackes? Thanks.

Unless you have 60 slayer it won't matter which

 

protection spell you use, you will still lose your stats.

 

So until you hit that level you will have to go the long way round.

 

 

 

There are a whole load of safe spots for ranging Bloodvelds

 

in the tower e.g. Hiding behind a chair in the main room

 

with the door leading to the Spectres.

 

 

 

If you are going to melee the Bloodvelds wear

 

the best magic defense bonus you can i.e. Dragon hide armour.

 

 

 

With regards to Spectres I used to use the safe spot before it was removed :cry: .

 

The best way to fight them is bring super attack and super strength

 

and fight them with mage protect on.

 

Also bring an ecto with you it will save your life at some point.

Without the nosepeg, protect from magic still won't work. If you still want to take that shortcut then take some restore potions, go up the chain and head straight for the 2-door. If you are low on stats then take a swig from your restore potion. By the way, wear magic defensive armour for bloodvelds, like dragon hide armour.

I'd just take the long way around. Safer and no need to worry about "What if I lag?" The two before me have already said enough. I think. Use the safespots mentioned and you'll be able to stay there for your entire assignment. Keep a few spots in your inventory open just in case.

Wow. Thanks for all the advice. Besides the chair in the room you enter from the Aberrant Specters, are there any other safe spots on that level?

 

 

 

Also, will ordinary restore potions work to regain stats from Aberrant Specters -- I know 3 doses of super restore work.
