alot of players might be happy if it did go mainstream like wow EQ2 and FFXI where there are no word filters or like some have special worlds where there are no filters i bet alot of players would be relieved to carry on conversations like they do normaly with thier pals in game like in real life.probally cut back on ppl using things like switch shift to play the game.since ss has open chat boxes and rooms so u can talk like normal ppl and not have to worry about" hi "being censored :lol:

The chat filter I have not noticed a problem yet. I do not know what you are talking about.

yeah were some worlds are aimed for lets say ppl with more colorful conversations and others are like the worlds we have now.basicly a few worlds aiming for the older audiance or those not easly offended

I don't understand how a small part of the overall game(ie chat filter) is such a huge problem to people. If you type something legal and it gets censored, use another word or reprase your sentence. If you're saying something illegal, does it really need to be said?

 

 

 

I saw someone complaining about not being able to say "dam" anymore. They asked how they can express their frustration in game now. If you can't express yourself without swearing, then you need to work on your vocabulary skills.

on topic: as with everything, the game becoming more mainstream has both advantages and disadvantages. alot of us would welcome a few worlds where there is no censor. i agree with "If you can't express yourself without swearing, then you need to work on your vocabulary skills," but it's really up to each individual to try to take that to heart and find better ways to express themselves (shakespearian insults, anyone? :P ). you either adapt past the filter, or you live in frustration trying to find new ways to use old words.

I agreen a lot of the people in the Runescape population are little kids who are not the brightest people.

I doubt runescape will go mainstream. Runescape is a Mud even with all the updates that they do its still going to stay a MUD, but I do know that Jagex are planning to release another game title at some point, but they need to shape up their costumer support before they should do anything else, becouse in my personal opinion their CS sucks.

you wanna know what i hate? i hate that you carry on a normal conversation and half the freaken thing gets cencored! like for example i just got back from barrows and i say "yeah, i got 60 bloods 120 chaos and 1k.

 

its like.... come on they do need to do something about that horendous filter its ruining part of the game. id rather people curse me out *ignore* than have half my convorsationg *******<-- ending up like that
