Graveyard Clean-Out

Featured Replies

I hope the old topics in the Graveyard Forum can be deleted. The two-year-old topics created by users which have been deleted.

Currently, there are 139 Pages of topics in Graveyard. If some of the topics were removed it could free up space and also prevent users from bumping the old topics. Some of these topics contain dead links to ImageShack and are by users who do not use the boards anymore.

Topics like:

There is many more however.

I like you're idea, that would create some more space, since those topics only waste it anyway... nice thinking ^^

99/99 Mage - Achieved 23/07/2007

99/99 Ranged - Achieved 20/12/2007

93/99 Defence

While it could be good for some old topics to be deleted, others have historical value to some people, and are nice to keep :)

I'm no expert on mysql and phpbb databases and speed, but if it really is that much of an advantage to delete them.. could they instead be moved to a seperate database (archive.forum.tip.it?) which cannot be posted on. That way people can still read them.

There could be a Graveyard Archive where old topics are moved. Similar to the Clan Archives whereby no-one can post replies, only view.

Sounds fair to me. We're in the process of regularly pruning other boards anyways.

While I'm not a big fan of sub forums...

since we're on the issue of archives, why not just make an archive sub forum (requires the subforum mod) for all forums where people have expressed intrest in saving certain posts from deletion.

Keep it to view only, and then prune the parent forum like usual :)
