Short is faster but less acurate. Also has the better special.

 

Long has a greater range but is slower.

I lost my short (Willow) but had a spare long, so trained with that.

 

 

 

At medium range (where both the long and the short SHOULD work), stepping out seems to be more common with the long.

Short bow dominates.

 

 

 

It's much, much faster, and deals more damage per second than the long bow does. It will cost you a bit more in terms of arrows, but time is money.

okay, i got my answer :P

you need to use a long bow for long range attacks, and a short for short ranged attacks, obviously.

If you are a pure, DO NOT select the "long range" style of attack, as it also trains defence - not sure if it has any effect on the actual range.

 

 

 

The usual would be to carry a short and a long, using the short for speed and the long for drawing in or catching an escaper
