Any requests on what i should rent tonight? I was thinking of the ringer but i dont know. Anybody heard any good things about it?

The Ringer is alright. It's not the greatest movie ever, but it's still good.

"good" when talking about comedies could really mean one of two things. it could mean the movie is good, directed, written, acted, and produced all very well, or it could mean its really really funny. most comedies that have been coming out recently have been good in the "really funny" way. there are less comedies that are "good" from a movie standpoint, and i cant think of one off the top of my head that is really new. have to go back a year or two i think.

 

 

 

that is, of course, just my opinion.

 

 

 

oh, and the ringer was just "ok" in the "really funny" way, and not all that great in the "movie" way.

Go back a few decades, you'll have a better comedy.

 

 

 

Well, to name a recent one. Wes Anderson's last movie.

 

 

 

The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, modern comedies don't get much better than Wes Anderson's.

Over the Hedge - all around positive reviews and just came out.

Well I was going to say Monty Python, but you said recent.... Hmmmm..... I'd say Shaun of the Dead.

That's incredibly adolescence humor (and I'm 13 :D) but I wasn't a fan is it (I guess my mom brought me up well :roll: )
