stanford
Yeah...real fun. Work yourself to the point where death by boredom is likely by cutting like 10,000 yew trees. Fishing 1,000 sharks. Killing the Kalphite Queen 250+ times. It's too expensive to be enjoyable. Whilst I played Runescape I accumulated a maximum capital of around 14-20 mill. If I sold everything I had and kept the dragon chain all to myself...forget buying a demonic throne (24 mill) or a steel dragon (10 mill) I wouldn't have enough money to even get myself past 60 construction in all likeliness. That's my two cents.

That's my two cents. i agree it tends to be expensive, i believe it is just people trying to seize the economy. were likely to see prices settle down in the next month or so. jagex will probably fix the planks problem also. but as for now, players are jacking up prices temporarily to seize the moment. again, they will probably go down after the economy settles. just like when a new video game system is released: companies sell their video game systen for 400+ then in a month its 300, and before you know it its 200. as for the person on page one that said your house does make money for you: ofcourse it does, thats real estate and inflation. my family comes from a long line of contractors. however so does everyone elses house in the same area. so if you sell your house, you still have to buy a new one, and those houses are also inflated in price. thats why we usually leave house-merchanting to real-estate agencies. highlanders
Au contraire mon fraire! You can make six gold pieces if you high alch an Okak chair. Just wondering, do YOU (the author) believe that Construction also was made with (even if only the slightest) intention to drain money from rich players? Seeing how you can purchase you way through the skill many of those wealthy players can easily get working on their dungeons and skyscrapers (of only three stories) to impress all those who might defy their all-mightyness. It's spelled 'fr̮̬̉̉re'. 2480+ total

darkmage099
of course im not saying its a rich person's skill. iron and steel are VERY easy to obtain, and so are planks by woodcutting. you could easily make a decent house after woodcutting and mining for a week or two. by the way: does YOUR house (irl) give you money  ? Owned! Uh, yes actually. It's called rising real estate prices. You aren't making money, but if you were to sell your house, it would be worth more, so technically, you are. In this, you cannot resell your house. So the money is lost. But you are getting away from the initial purpose of this thread. Construction is NOT a money maker, instead it is a FUN maker. Don't you see? Jagex didn't make the POH's as some god awful arduous experience that forced you to do pointless tasks for little reward instead you get to see your creation grow as you put your time and effort into it. We still are doing pointless tasks but we are getting a grand reward, a place of our own, a place for friends to hang out and relax with us. The POH's are not meant to make money, they're meant to create a new experience in RS, an enjoyable one where you can take a load off from all of your fighting time. Relax and enjoy the comforts of your own home, don't worry about making money, just relax. PLEASE DONT CONFUSE RS WITH THE REAL WORLD! for the past couple of years i didnt need my character (not even a real person) to live in a house. Its not like its a necessity in rs. we neeed houes in real life and we get something back when we sell the house. In rs you cant sell or merchant houses(which would be weird). yes its a fun skill but it is for the richer unless you want to stand there hacking at wood and mining ores. Then it would be a boring skill. How do you relax in ahome in rs!?!?!? that would be kind of boring sitting there looking at an electronic picture of fake stuff...im not worried about money-making what i am worried about is not getting back what i have spent. as i hear people spend 100-200k to get 30 construction. yeh, im gunna spend freaken 10 million to get a dragon or 24 million to get a demonic throne...mmhmm what skill can make those? dont get me wrong its not like i hate construction but it seems like you are losing your money. assassin_696
Not only is it fun, it's also a very socialable skill. Inviting friends/randomers round for parties at your house can bring the community together, in a way. AngelDude20
This kind of reminds me of the raising house prices in real life that is threatening first time buyers  Personally this is the skill I enjoy most.
i123i
I feel like playing the Sims:MMORPG expansion pack....oh wait, that's runescape! Seriously, construction reminds me of how I spent hours playing the sims, for fun.
