June 4, 200620 yr no, there is such a thing as dieing of old age, just we havn't really reached it fully. the DNA, in every cell, has a end tip that is like a strong stick. every time a cell undergoes mitosis, that DNA is split apart and duplicated, but the stick is shortend. After years and years, that strand goes away and you can't duplicate your cell, causing you to die. And btw, at about the age of 27-30 we START to die of old age as we make less cells then we lose....

Cancer cells are immortal in the fact that they reproduce themselves as many times as they want. I wish I was made of pure cancer
June 5, 200620 yr "When I die I want to go peacefully in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming and in agony like the passengers in his car." Oh man... that's hilarious. I don't think that we can call any death technically "death by old age." As you get older, you are more prone to medical conditions and heart failure. Passing away peacefully in your sleep could be a stroke or heart attack or something. Even preprogrammed cell death just causes other problems which can't really be called simply "old age."
