Seriously, there is no other way to being succesful in life and in RS than to try. You could say "work hard", but that's just trying. You could say "copy a succesful person", but that's just a very short non intended try. I tried pixel art, and got rotten tomatoes thrown at me in the beginning (as you can see me in St0ner's sig). I tried again slightly harder, and slowly worked harder and harder from scratch. It's like a train, a very hard slow start but then there seems to be no stopping it.
