venomai
"The White Mill" Sketch for CGTalk daily sketch group. -- Photoshop 7, default brushes. Sort of used a ref, but only for the structure of a basic windmill. [link] Added snow to the roof. Not sure if it's any better... :?
Goldwolflord
Very good! Just goes to show what you can do with PS if you know what you're doing. I prefer the one without snow.

APERSON
Your lines look so crisp, I find when I am drawing in PS I have to go slow or the lines skip. Doesn't seem to be as bad when I'm using a larger brush but... Any secret I'm missing out on here? Did you draw that quite a bit bigger then resize it or??? Looks good btw, nice sketch :) Why should we buy postage stamps when we can make our own?aperson being

venomai
Thanks for the comments guys! Any secret I'm missing out on here? Did you draw that quite a bit bigger then resize it or??? Looks good btw, nice sketch :) Thanks! The original was a bit larger. [link] Usually when I paint lines I use a size 3 brush. I follow three basic steps to keep things clean and quick: sketch, clean up, and post-edit. 1. Sketch the lines roughly. 2. Clean up quickly with eraser & brush. Zoom if needed... 3. After you're done: shrink, sharpen, constrast, what have you... All of my post-editing is done on a separate document. Go Image > Duplicate or press the "Duplicate State" button on your history window to keep things separate. :) If it was a serious speed painting, I probably would have stopped somewhere between step 1 and 2. Your lines look so crisp, I find when I am drawing in PS I have to go slow or the lines skip Really? This is odd.. I have to go fast to keep my lines straight and smooth, heh :P What do your lines look like when you go fast? It might be something to do with your tablet... APERSON
Must be my tablet! I use a wacom tablet, is there some setting I can change somewhere? This is what my line look like when I go fast, they aren't much better when i go slow either: Actually, Teenageloser just helped me figure it out, thanks TL! Thanks Venomai too :) Why should we buy postage stamps when we can make our own?aperson being
Goldwolflord
That may be your brush settings too, just check you don't have spacing or scattering on in the advanced brush panel.
tunaboy692004
yeah, most likley you have scattering on. Current Goals80/80 Fletching60/75 Woodcutting97/100 Combat

Peter
Although it's just a sketch, it looks like it could be a complete minimalism piece. Very cool feel to it, the snow makes the picture for sure :). I'd love to see more of these, and would probably partake if I had a tablet...
