I think they're exactaly the same or pretty close, I'd go with rune because it's easier to find sellers.

Rockshell is EXACTLY the same as a rune plate in EVERY def bonus.

 

 

 

 

 

You dont need dragon slayer to use the plate though :D

 

plus, its cooler looking

And if you're cheap you can get it for just 10k, so in thory it's cheaper than rune.
