June 27, 200620 yr its a bug more than likely... but i dont know what to do other than to try to clean and quarentine/delete the bug on ur computer by running a computer thing like McAfee
June 27, 200620 yr Sounds like hardware problems. Do you have it set to show the stop errors, rather than restarting when an error occurs? 1. Open Control Panel. 2. Click on Performance and Maintenance. 3. Click on System. 4. Click on the Advanced tab. 5. Click on the error-reporting button. 6. Select Enable Error Reporting. 7. Check Windows Operating System. 8. Check Programs. 9. Click the Chose Programs Button. 10. Select All Programs. 11. Click OK. 12. Click OK. 13. Click Apply. 14. Click OK. Next time it happens, you'll get a blue screen (BSOD) with an error message and some hex values like: 0x00033133 (0x... 0x... 0x... 0x...) write down the hex values and the file that the error refers to (if applicable) and post it here.
June 27, 200620 yr You won't get any BSOD if it's a PSU (power supply) problem, in which case you'll need a new PSU. Unfortunately it's hard to test to see if it is the PSU, the only way I can think of off the top of my head is trying a replacement. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

Id put a working PSU into the computer that keeps turning off to test. If all works fine then dispose of the dodgy PSU and get a new one. I am pleased you said this because not so long ago after my PC rebooted it came up with a error box with all the 0x0003131 stuff but i cant rember what it was. I dont get any errors come up like that any more.. do you have anyclue what it could be? Thanks =Gratz

Or, if you want to be really cool, get water-cooling. It looks cool, works great, but it is a little expensive. Or, just go with some simple, easy fans. Don't waste your money on cheapy fans. Get some really good ones (I suggest newegg.com).

I have just brought a new Evo 120 CPU fan P180 case with 5 case fans and seprate chambers for things like the psu so the heat cant travel I also have a temp monitor and nothing is overheating... Thanks anyway
June 28, 200620 yr If you just bought a new CPU fan, it might be worthwhile going back and making sure that its seated right and is in proper contact with the CPU.

Get some really good ones (I suggest newegg.com). No. Random reboots and be almost anything. Over heating is going to shut it down completely. The default bios settings are generally configured to shut it down when it reaches x temperature. Rebooting does nothing to rectify the problem since it would've had no time to cool down. Your theory = flawed.
