____
Sounds like hardware problems. Do you have it set to show the stop errors, rather than restarting when an error occurs? 1. Open Control Panel. 2. Click on Performance and Maintenance. 3. Click on System. 4. Click on the Advanced tab. 5. Click on the error-reporting button. 6. Select Enable Error Reporting. 7. Check Windows Operating System. 8. Check Programs. 9. Click the Chose Programs Button. 10. Select All Programs. 11. Click OK. 12. Click OK. 13. Click Apply. 14. Click OK. Next time it happens, you'll get a blue screen (BSOD) with an error message and some hex values like: 0x00033133 (0x... 0x... 0x... 0x...) write down the hex values and the file that the error refers to (if applicable) and post it here. Anesthesia
You won't get any BSOD if it's a PSU (power supply) problem, in which case you'll need a new PSU. Unfortunately it's hard to test to see if it is the PSU, the only way I can think of off the top of my head is trying a replacement. Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be. ____
If you have BSOD enabled, and it's rebooting - I think I'd be safe to assume that it is most likely the PSU :P At which point, you'd throw it in another machine and try it out :)

Id put a working PSU into the computer that keeps turning off to test. If all works fine then dispose of the dodgy PSU and get a new one. Gratz
First off thanks to everyone for the quick replys and your advice. Someone a while ago told me it might be the PSU so i brought a 550W new PSU and it still reset so i know its not the PSU. Sounds like hardware problems. Do you have it set to show the stop errors, rather than restarting when an error occurs? 1. Open Control Panel. 2. Click on Performance and Maintenance. 3. Click on System. 4. I am pleased you said this because not so long ago after my PC rebooted it came up with a error box with all the 0x0003131 stuff but i cant rember what it was. I dont get any errors come up like that any more.. do you have anyclue what it could be? Thanks =Gratz
Nathan1993
This is easy!!! Your computer is getting too hot. Just get some new fans, a new heatsink and fan for your processor, and you will be good. Fans. Fans. Fans. Or, if you want to be really cool, get water-cooling. It looks cool, works great, but it is a little expensive. Or, just go with some simple, easy fans. Don't waste your money on cheapy fans. Get some really good ones (I suggest newegg.com).

Stuart_G
If you just bought a new CPU fan, it might be worthwhile going back and making sure that its seated right and is in proper contact with the CPU.

The default bios settings are generally configured to shut it down when it reaches x temperature. Rebooting does nothing to rectify the problem since it would've had no time to cool down. Your theory = flawed.
