Intriguing
First my Crafting question. I'm planning on, in the near future, getting my crafting level to 70 [currently 60]. I will be doing it with molten glass. Collecting all the ingrediants myself. However, I'm not sure whether to make lantern lenses or vials. [i gather lenses give the most amount of exp. per molten glass, however I will gain nothing from them besides exp.] Vials. Pros : I gain vials, obviously. These will be incredibly useful for my upcoming goal of 70 herblore, which requires me to make at least 4k potions. Cons : Tedious walking between Draynor and Entrana, collecting of buckets, and filling them with sand at Yanille. Also, I have to make more of them as opposed to lenses. Lenses. Pros : I can stay on Entrana the entire time, not have to wait for seaweed to respawn nearly as much. I don't have to make as many. Cons : Nothing gained from it aside from exp. Now to Herblore. I would like to know the best way for me to get to level 70 herblore [currently level 58]. I'm not looking for the fastest way to get to it, I'm looking for the cheapest. I doubt I will be able to make money from it, I just don't want to lose too much. Also, should I buy the herbs or grow them? My current farming level is 60, I am wanting to get it to 70 at some point. I have around 500 watermelons [supercompost] in my bank, and the maximum amount of supercompost the leprechaun will take, so that's not a problem. The minimum amount of herbs I can get per seed is 5 [with supercompost and Magic Secateurs], so would it be more efficient to do it that way? Anyway, if you could give me your opinion of those issues it would be great. For the record, I'm not too well off in RuneScape at the moment, with my bank being worth approximately 16-17mill, so keep that in consideration. Cool. LordSoultar
Mind giving use the actual numbers of how many vials you'd need to make as opposed to the number of fishbowls? As for the herblore: buy ranarr seeds 20-25k each and farm them. Gather your own snape grass on waterbirth island, then mix up prayer pots and sell. Do this up until 63 herblore and 62 farming, then move to snapdragons and super restores. Gather your own red spider eggs in Edgeville dunegon (Level 5 wildy). Sell the super restores 8k each. The reason for moving to snapdragons is simple, seeds and pots are around the same as ranarr, but they give almost 3 times the exp. Btw, ALL secondary ingrediant gathering should be gotten on a full world. That allows for for faster respawns.
Intriguing
Firstly, thank you for the advice. Now, to do with crafting, I was under the impression that fishbowls gave 65exp. or 75exp. per each one made. This was due to either me misreading the crafitng guide, or an error in the guide which has now been corrected [most likely the prior]. The next biggest exp. giver is obviously lantern lenses [55exp. per each made, as opposed to 35exp. per vial]. Seeing as the difference in number that I would have to make is minimal [6.1k lenses as opposed to around 6.5k vials], that's now not a worry. So it's just to do with, is the time saved worth the money I'll lose buying vials? Cool.
LordSoultar
In that case, make the lantern lens. World switching at the shilo village general store, especially after an update and shop stocks are reset, is cheap. Only about 5 gp per vial.
Intriguing
Again, thank you very much, especially for mentioning Shilo Village. Cool.
transcript80
First of all: do the hand in the sand quest. This way, you'll be able to get a truckload of sand in your bank everyday by talking to Bert in Yanille. This should speed up your carfting of molten glass, because you only have to get your sea weed. As for the acual crafting, i would stick with vials. The extra 400 you have to make on a grand total of 6-odd K vials would not mather that much to me. And there is an actual purpose for vials, as opposed to fishbowls (unless you want to make your own sea world with them :P) or lantern lenses. There is an actual market for them if you wouldn't want to keep the yourself. As for herblore: I find this particularly hard to level, so I do it once in a while. Mean while, I stock up on herbs and seconds. Buying ranarr seeds is an option, you could farm them and make prayer pots (=7-8K ea), then move on to snapdragon as mentioned before. As I find herb seeds hard to come by, I thieve in Draynor for seeds until near death, farm all herb seeds I get, and regenerate health while making glass/vials for example in Falador/Port Phastmathys or getting secondary ingredients. This should also make the whole process a bit less boring. Since you are not into speeding towards your goals and on a "tight" budget of 17M (lol I have like 1.5M!!!) this would be a rather slow but not boring way (farming 2 patches, thieving, crafting and herbloring all-in-1!!!) good luck on your goals! hamgod316
I would suggest collecting seaweed from Piscatoris Fishing Colony because it respawns very quickly. Plus, the bank is about 2 clicks away. Also, make sure you follow transcript80's advice about the sand. You get a large supply everyday and the quest shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. You should make the molten glass in Port Phasmatys. The range and the furnace is very close to the banks. This method requires that you do a few quests but you save a great deal of time. Intriguing
Well, already done Ghost's Ahoy and Hand in the Sand [hence me mentioning getting sand in Yanille], but is the Fishing colony the monkfish place? Cool.
transcript80
Yes. It's an excellent choice to gather sea weed. Next would be relekka (north-east of fremmenik city) but it's quite a long way from a bank. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...
