High Alching would be best, if you cannot do that and you're F2P then sell them to the Armour shop or other players for 1.1k each if you get a lot of them.

If you're a memeber and cannot High Alch then go down to Mor'ton and sell them to the general store which will buy any item for it's high alch price.

Actually, any Platemail shop that sells Steel Plates aught to buy for high alch price, so that's what you've gotta do I suppose.

but the problem with high alching steel plates is that you get 1.2K per plate (minus cost of nature rune)

for the sake of argument, let's say the nature rune cost 300 gp

at that rate, you would get 180 gp per steel bar

however, if you were to just make steel bars and sell them to members, you can get 600-650 gp per bar

better yet, if you're a member, you can make the bars into cannonballs, which can then be sold for up to 200 gp each (that's 800 gp per bar :D )

Fear the frog reaper. Hypercubes make the frog reaper happy ^_^

I have a question relating high alching steel plates:

A lot of people use this method, but it seems to me it's better to sell the steel bars. Don't you lose money by high Alching this?

I mean: the price of something ecuals the maximum price you can get for it (e.g. If you cut yews and sell for 200 ea, then you would lose money, because you could have gotten more by selling it for 250 ea or more).

Isn't the high alching value of 1 steel bar less then the price (you could have gotten) of 5 steel bars and 1 nature rune? That would make you lose money, just for having magic xp.

(If this post is disturbing i'll change it to "nvm")

how can u lose money by high alching, its always been pure profit for me, mine coal and iron, make into steel pl8s, high alch steel pl8s... pure profit, other than losing 300gp for high alching but u still get 900gp, but for every pl8 u high alch u can buy 3 more nats with that

2 situations: You hav the materials for steel pl8s and you can either sell them or HA them.

1) You get the stuff and high alch it.

You get 1200 gp from HA

2) You sell the suff

* 5 steel bars = 5*600 ea = 3000 gp

* 1 nat = 300 ea

=> You get 3300 gp from selling

Difference between 2 situations:

You get magic xp -->

So actually you are paying for magic xp -->

That magic xp = -32.3 gp/xp!!! (you get 65 xp from 1 highalch spell) -->

It's smarter to sell then to HA.

Ill show with HAing yew longs:

1) You get stuff and highalch it

You get 768 gp from HAing

2) You sell the stuff

* yew log = 250 gp

* flax = 100 gp

* 1 nat = 300 gp

You get 650 gp from selling

Here it's smarter to HA: +1.8 gp/xp (You get more money and more magic xp with HAing :D )
