I just got Firefox because everyone said you could block ads and it had less viruses. Are there any special benefits gained while using firefox?

You can't get additional toolbars. However, it OWNs IE.

Shouldnt this belong in Tech Support? Anyway, you can get additinal toolbars! Extensions?

What?

But ICQ, Yahoo! and Google toolbars are IE only toolbars, aren't they?

Firefox has a built in Google search bar. Everything else is just clutter.

Anyway, the first thing you absolutely should do with a new install of Firefox is get Flashblock at http://flashblock.mozdev.org/. You know all those annoying flash ads, like that hideous one Tip.it has for the smileys that plays the annoying sound? Yeah, Flashblock turns all flash movies into a little button that won't play until you click on it, so you never see the ads and can easily see the stuff you actually want to see. It's the only extension I consider a must-have.
