July 10, 200620 yr I know a higher strength means you hit harder, but do it only affect the max hit or does it increase the likelyhood of hitting 6s instead of 1s? Am I making any sense?
July 10, 200620 yr No strength only affects your maximum hit, however attack would increase your likelyhood of hitting your max hit. So really a higher strength means you have the ability to hit much higher, however you have less chance of doing this. Whilst higher attack would hit more often but not as high
July 10, 200620 yr With a higher max hit, however, you're lowest hits tend to be not so low any longer. Correct? I mean, my max hit is (only) like... 23. And I hit 1-9's very little.
July 10, 200620 yr you hit 1-9's very little because at 23 damage, they are only like 10/23 chance of landing that number, which is less than a half. Its more of a psychology factor i think. Also don't forget, some 0's are considered as a hit (proof? mage spells can hit zero's as well as splashes, and I am assuming that a splash is a miss, which is safe assumption because i have seen ahrim's head looping around my body when a 0 was landed, yep, its magic 'damage' -_-) 6,924th to 30 hunting, 13,394th to 30 summoning, 52,993rd to 30 DivinationKiln Record (Post-EoC): W 25 - L 0, 14 Uncut Onyx, 8 Jad hits received (Best record: Two in the same kiln)Obby set renewed post update #2: 0QBD drops: 21 crossbow parts, 3 Visages, 1 Kites, 2 KitsMax Port Score [2205] Achieved: 27th April 2013 (World 2nd) Farmyard Rampage ranking: 12th, 50,000 Kills. July 10, 200620 yr I don't think Jagex ever gave a concise explanation because they say it being "something we'd only keep to the development team" or something. I am a tree.
July 10, 200620 yr This is what I understand, although it might be awfully wrong: You roll a die. The first one, plus your attack (+att bonus), opposed to the opponent's def (+def bonus). If your roll is higher, you hit (thus, higher attack means less zeros). If you hit, then you roll a second die. Strength levels (and str bonuses) raise the max hit you have (thus lowering the chances of getting 1's or 2's). (Yes, I've played D&D  ) This signature is intentionally left blank.
