Featured Replies

Well, i know many people on these forums use windows blinds and was wondering your opnions on them.

I have tried them 3 times, all over 4 months ago, and was never satisfied with them. But now i dont even remember why i didnt like it, so i was wondering how everybody else likes them?

Current Goals

80/80 Fletching

60/75 Woodcutting

97/100 Combat

reasons i dont use them

-killer on the resources.

-interferes with some programs and makes them look odd..

-no skins i like :P.

Actually, with the newer versions of windowblinds, the programs use just as much, if not less resources than the original XP skins.

The Windowblinds processes run in place of, not overtop of, the standard XP skinning processes.

I might check out windowblinds again.

Right now I use something like it, but it's from alienware. it's just an alienware themed skin, but without any tray in the bar / program to use. It's nice as well.

I like windows blinds, because it's kind of like a personalization type thing... I found a skin I really liked, in fact it matchs with my firefox skin, and my entire computers black and blue setup theme, case, mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

HOWEVER

Your right in saying it doesn't hog resources...

BUT

After I get out of any game that uses a lot of resources (Half-Life 2, Battle Feild 2, Quake 4) it will make my desktop lag an insane ammount. My CPU is normal, as if I were idleing, windows blinds isn't hogging and RAM either... it's just lagging, and it will hang there untill I either manually stop the process or restart.

I like windows blinds, I don't like the fact that it still has some bugs.

I"m running window blinds and have never had that happen before. I've had Steam go on it's little panic and have to reboot, but never a lock up like that after dumping out of Half Life 2.

Running Window Blinds 4.51 (.5 something atleast). Check if you're running an earlier version and see. I've also got an Athlon64 3000+ and a gig of ram, so that migh thave something to do with it. :?

Overall it's very transparent once you get it installed and skinned the way you like it. I havn't touched my settings for Window Blinds in months.

its great i use it only bad thing is there arnt that many great skins, and the only skin i like does dumb things

use deviantart.com for skins

aye. I'm running 4.5 and the only reason my desktop lags when i exit out of bf2 is due to samurize being blah. WindowBlinds itself doesn't lag anything.

And, I have bloss2 as my theme. Very clean, and it goes well with my Opera theme :D
