July 17, 200620 yr I think that there is no "best" band. For each era there may be but not overall. They are all too different. But my top three would have to be - Dream Theater, Pink Floyd and The Red Hot Chili Peppers Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!
July 17, 200620 yr Necrophagist - One of the most technically brilliant bands I've ever heard. Cannibal Corpse - Great work, and the vocals are simply amazing. Death - One of the best maintainers of Death Metal.. Really good lyrics, Chuck Schulinder was a great shredder.

There's no way you can compare 60s bands with current bands, neither can you compare a genre like post-rock with hard rock, punk or metal. July 18, 200620 yr My top three... Hard. Right now, I'm really listening to Yngwie Malmsteen, Van Halen, and Styx. But my top-top three is like.. Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Van Halen.
