Ok so I got the last part for my system yesterday (my ram) and so I put my ram in there, then turn it on. Comes to the BIOS screen and then asks to put the OS cd in and hit enter. I have always been told put it in then TURN OFF your computer then TURN IT ON and it will go straight to the setup. Well I turn it off and then turn it back on......NOTHING....nothing shows on the screen. The monitor stays in standby. It acts like theres not a signal being sent to it I guess casue everything on the inside turns on just like normal but nothing shows on the monitor and the LED that shows its status is orange (orange = standby, blue = on). So I tried checking my connections, still nothing. So I unhooked EVERYTHING and put EVERYTHING back in the case and reconnected everything. Still nothing. So by now im pissed so I leave the house and call up a friend to ask him. He says he'll come by when he gets off work and take a look at it. The parts got here around 5:30 and then he gets over to my house around 10:30 and so we go to my room open up the front, and BAM....it works. So we get windows XP installed and running fine. So then we install the software for my wireless PCI card and then we turn off the system and install my PCI card and then try and turn on the system. NOTHING. It wont show on the monitor just like last time. All the stuff inside turns on but nothing shows on the monitor, it stays in standby the whole time.

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME!!??

Do you get any unusual POST beep codes?

Do you even get the standard "Hey I'm working fine!" POST beep code?

If you have a spare Power Supply, I suggest trying that with it first.

That is the 3rd time ive heard something about the power supply. I have a 550W antec PSU but maybe its defective?

and yes when i turn on the computer i hear a beeping noise. It goes like....BEEEP.........BEEEP.......BEEEP....

but when it worked it went like ...BEE *starts to work* so it cut it off in the middle of a beep

[EDIT]

I bought a psu when i bought all these parts and its an Antec 550 Truepower 2 and I also have the PSU that came with the case and I just tested it with the case PSU and nothing showed again...

Check the RAM, sometimes as soon as you stick a new piece of ram in, it appears to be working, but then when you boot for the second time, it doesnt work. This happened to me and i swapped the ram and tested it in a second computer. If you have two sticks of ram, try using just one. Annoying, i know, but at least a working computer is better than a slow computer.

You act like the game community is like the stinking bowels of hell.... In all reality.. its much.. much... worse.

How many sticks do you have?

Have you tried changing the slots?

For example, when I got my RAM. I tried to install it into slots 1+2 but that didn't work. I had to put it into slots 3+4 to get it up and running properly.

Get your motherboard manual and check the RAM guidelines, it should tell you what different ways you can put it in.

If all else fails, try one stick at a time. Unless you have only one stick.
