Yeah... You think that's random? Try Muffins, like the other guy said. That'll throw you a loop. Youtube's full of that sort of stuff. That's why I try to stay away from it in general. However, my friend insisted I see this, and I thought that it was particularly funny.

I really laughed out loud today when I was shown that video. I thought... Sounds like a bunch of lurers to me.. That was when I realized I was playing too much runescape.

I've never been successfully lured (ancient magic: 3. Lurers: 0), but given the recent spate of topics on luring, I thought I'd post something I found funny about the mentality of lurers and their process. Watch this satirical video on youtube: (Not sure if link is allowed, but just search Charlie: Candy Mountain and click the first result). Summary: Don't enter into deep dark caves (read: wilderness) with precious kidneys (read: partyhats). If you haven't seen it, watch the whole thing. The ending is worth it.

That "Mostly Harmless" examine comes from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where the entry on earth is simply: "Earth: Mostly Harmless" That made me laugh when I read it.

Which world is the Trawler Minigame played in the most? I just want to see if this update is any good, and I've never done trawler before. IF you know the unofficial world, please post it here.

Short math proof of the above: Lemma: Show that any integer may be reached by executing the binary operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division on any elements of the set {3,4}. Proof: Simply realize that 4 - 3 = 1, and we can add or subtract as many ones as we want to reach any target number. QED Sorry for the obvious proof. -
Evanescence is GREAT! I love them. Haven't heard of Origa though... Guess I'll research them (it?) some more.

That powerpoint trigger thing is brilliant. I'll have to do that in the future. -

Sweet article. Well thought out, and the points are all valid. Keep up the good work. -
I really love Corinne Bailey Rae (Girl Put your Records On) for it's relaxing quality. That and any Jack Johnson is good.

In Al Kharid, if you talk to Al the Camel, he'll tell you some poetry that is VERY close imitation of Shakespeare's Sonnet XVIII: Here's the poem Al writes towards his prospective girlfriend, Elly: Shall I compare thee to a desert's day? Thou art drier and more rough skinned. Rough sandstorms shake the cactuses away, And summer's heat defers to autumn's wind. Sometime to hot the eye of heaven shines, With Guthix' gold complexion often dimmed; And every fair from fair sometimes declines By chance, or desert's changing course untrimmed. But thine eternal desert shall not fade, nor lose possession of that sand thou owst. Nor Zamorak brag thou art in his shades When in eternal lines to sand thou growest. So long as camels breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. And here's the real thing (forgive me, but this is by memory of a long lost 7th grade English Class): Shall I compare thee to a summer's day? Thou art more lovely and more temperate. Rough winds do shake the darling buds of may, and summer's lease hath all too short a date. Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines, and often is his gold complexion dimmed. And every fair from fair sometimes declines, by chance or nature's changing course untrimmed. So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see, So long lives this, and this gives life to thee. Discuss Jagex's inner poet representing their true souls. [/sarcasm]

I can't believe nobodies said Jmod! I'd love to be a jmod. More realistically, however, my friend's dad is the chief engineer at Lotus, and I might get a job this summer working for Lotus as an intern helping with car design

RuneScape Levels and Experience formula

You need to compile it first. Usually that's done in GCC, you can download a program called Bloodshed DevC++ which will do a great job. -
RuneScape Levels and Experience formula
Quasar889 replied to Jard_Y_Dooku's topic in General Discussion
Well, basically, that's hawt. Seen this before, but good of you to post it again. It's basically the graph of an exponential function, and you can do a pretty good approximation with an exponential regression on a TI-84, but this is a much more accurate method, so as you posted, put those noob calcs away and get an 89 Platinum ;-) -
This was bugging me. It's inversely proportional to the SQUARE of the distance between them.
-
My view on this is thus: Jagex isn't making minigames failures, players are. Most minigames are only fun if you play with other people: Pest Control, Castle Wars, Barbarian Assault, Trawler... Oh wait. I just listed the only popular minigames. Hmmmm. Well, to me, it seems that the only games we find *fun* are games that other people are at. It's not Jagex's fault for making Blast Furnace awful, it's the players' fault for not realizing how profitable it was, forming a dedicated world/team (read: w78 or Heart Unit/Affliction), and abusing the cabbage out of it. If we the players organized around one or more of these dormant minigames, I can guarantee that you would see new life spring into them faster than Chuck Norris can roundhouse kick Jack Bower off the planet.

Monsters of The Security Stronghold-Overlooked?
Quasar889 replied to g_u_t_h_i_x's topic in General Discussion
My style is like this: Granite plate with d legs, rune defender, and a salve against ankous. Switch into guthans when HP gets low. Repeat. -
Which monster drops the most chaos runes at a time, and ~roughly how many per hour?
-
wow that's really really odd. My birthday is the same exact day, and I'm 15 tomorrow as well. Joint party mebbe? Creepy.
-
The original ammy (not enchanted) gives 15% The new, enchanted one gives 20%. Is that clear enough? The 5% is just a comparison tool... It's not actually a bonus of either new or old amulets.
-
No. Can I attempt to correct some misunderstandings? The first haunted mine quest gave a salve amulet which gave +15% attack and str bonus when fighting undead. This new update allows you to enchant that amulet further, causing a 20% attack and str bonus. It's not 5%, it's a 5% IMPROVEMENT over the old one. So his calculation using 0.2 is right on the money.
-
Basicall, the idea is to get your magic attack bonus as low as possible. You then go to the gnomic battlefield, and continually cast curse/weaken type s of spells. The reasoning behind this is that you will fail, but you still get exp from the the cast, so that you can likely cast it many times on one monster. The gnomic battlefield is good because of the sheer density of monsters. If you really want to do this, grab a mud battlestaff and a bunch of soul/body runes (really only viable training with souls) and get casting!

Which item in your bank gathers the most dust?
Quasar889 replied to mrmyk's topic in General Discussion
For me, it's my amulet of defense. I never want to throw it away, but I never seem to use it. -
I sell mine... I could easily have had 130k+ by now, but I only keep around 5k at a time.
