A shortcut to the Kalphites

In the new recent update of Dorgesh-Kaan, my friend found a shortcut to the Kalphites. I didn't know the city was so deep and far out in the desert  The shortcut is downstairs when you first enter the agility course. I looked through the forums to find a suitable place to post this...but didn't find any. Sorry if I overlooked it!

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, then throw it in their faces and ask for the oranges you originally asked for.

Yeah, I went in there, but it isnt even a shortcut or anything. It's actually LONGER to take that path. The good thing: 1 rope and no shanty pass.

Unless you somehow had all the proper fighting gear and food for the kalphite queen while you were down there and suddenly wanted to go kqing, I don't think this "shortcut" is very useful. It takes about 3 minutes to runfrom the bank to the agility course and another minute to actually find the tunnel. Shantay is about two times faster.

I wouldn't even call this a shortcut :notalk:

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

Actully pretty fast if you use the fairy ring ajq, but that takes ups a staff and lantern spot. The fairy ring is pretty close to the entrance to the new backway.

Been playing rs for 5+ yrs

It IS fast if you use the 1-click-tele of the Tele-shere that brings you back to dorgeshuun...

It gets better, if youre fast enough (really requires some skill), you can even do without a lightsource. If you run fast enough youre safe and sound back in the Kalphite Tunnels before the little bugs come out that slowly kill you...

This means you can bring, compared to Shantay, TWO extra praypots/tunapotatoes, and have a quick tele close to the KQ shortcut...

The only thing that would make it perfect, is a prayer altar in Dorges-Khaan...

And a house tele tablet makes everything better. Again.

That "Mostly Harmless" examine comes from Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where the entry on earth is simply: "Earth: Mostly Harmless"

That made me laugh when I read it.

You act like the game community is like the stinking bowels of hell.... In all reality.. its much.. much... worse.

Fairy Ring and Shantay are faster than that new way, so it's not really a major shortcut.

It surprised me that nobody has flamed the TS with a "z0mg, its on teh updatepage, read teh updateh!"

Anyway, if it allows you NOT to use the shantay pass, it's okay. I hate that place with that stupid disclamer...

I think that it is not a shortcut, but a convenience cut, mostly because you do not have to go through Shantay pass, saving precious inventory space, and thus a higher chance of victory for more kills....

Also, there are many stories surrounding the Kalphite Queen that they are raising an army to attack Runescape, so maybe this may have something to do with a quest storyline.

personally fairy ring tele to desert by the Kalphite caves are shortest for me (edge tele, then fairy tele to BIQ) I wouldn't recommend it for KQ hunting, but for tasks or potato cacti collecting, this is what I've found to work the best.

RSN: Greedom1 | QP 248+ | Combat 116 | Total 1920+ | Skills 95 craft, 99 farm, 88 herb, 91 mage, 85 slayer

yea, it dumps you out at the entrance to the dungeon where the low level kalhpites are. It would be quicker and better to use shantay pass...

I use the edgeville+ fairy ring method :D .

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

personally i wish.. no joke i have also wanted runescape to have an area where its under constant battle, where buildings are on fire and you can hide in them and range/mage from them.

like they are big and deserted and take a very long time to travel around. basically, post apocalyptic scenario. i figured when they added shadow of the storm and the new realm of things i figured, great place to put something like that.
