skeroh
I have 33 mage right now and i want to get it up to 45 or so. I am currently cutting yews to make money to buy runes. To train, I am using Earth Strike. I do not want to alch stuff to gain levels or enchant things. What should I train on? And can anyone approximate how many chaos runes i might need to get to level 45 magic? And what staff should i use? and i've heard about curse failing to train magic...i have enough runes to tdo the curse spell aroudn 500 or so times, but i don't know how it works.. :-k can anyone help me? Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
Foooman
For cures training you try to get your mage attack bonus as low as posible. You do this by wearing a full set of metal armor and a kite shield. (anything bronze-rune works) Then just go find a monster and curse it to your heart's content
prof_fleb
to do curse training you wear anything you can to lower your mage bonus (full metal armour, archer helm, kite shield, stuff like that) then you cast curse, you'll fail (same exp) and you cast it again on the same thing (if you succeed yuo have to get a new target) so its good exp (29 per cast i think) EDIT:lol posted in the same minute... ~hawt Knight of the Void~Barrows drops: 3. veracs brassard, torags hammers & dharoks greataxe (double drop)

Doomster
Monsters - anything trappable. Strike or curse? - depends if you want lower HP/combat or a longer lifeline - also, curse does nor win you any drops, while strikes can take down anything that can't retaliate. Earth strikes use less airs (and work better as a curse & kill combo, + waters and bodies and the Earth staff), while fire strikes are the highest power spell from F2P crafted runes. The minotaurs in the stronghold are cannon fodder for a ranger or mage in cover - collect and sell the arrow drops.

Goobore
You could try to sell the Zammy wines in the Potions market forum. Earth strike averages about 15.5 mage exp per cast but Curse always gives 29 mage exp no matter what. Hope this helps.
