hack prevent system

Featured Replies

my friend got an idea. I dont know if this was posted before or if its already used but......

each computer has its own code, listed on the top of the welcome screen after you log in. simply put you can set which computer codes your specific charecter can log in from, and all other must enter another password. If a hack does breakk through, you can simply tell jagex you never want that computer logging in again as your charecter. You must change the second passord everytime you update the list. This way it prevents hacking and you can still log in on your friends computer when visiting.

PS yes my friend lost a lot of stuff ( he's a member 2)

I like the idea, as long as we can set multiply codes, because some people have devorced parents/two computers in there house or whatever.

But otherwise this suggestion would definetly stop most hacking. I'm sure like your brother or sister could still hack you though, if they knew how to work/knew what runescape is. \'

Why do you people have a hard time not being hacked?

-Make pass that you can remember, but hard for everyone else.

- Dont download and link you see.

-Dont be stupid and blab out your pass in RS.

Nick_6464 i just want to tell you, there ARE such things as "lower levels". I'm not one myself, but I honestly wouldn't want one of them to lose there password. And you sollution is making a pass you can remember, but hard for everyone else...? Well, the creator of this thread(I forget his name) just wants to ensure people don't lose their accounts/get items stolen. The only bad thing of this is that, i'm sure lots of losers in Runescape would start screaming out their passwords, which could lead to no good... :-k Otherwise, I like the idea like i said in my other post (first post)

No, those are ignorant people who dont care much about thier account. They get hacked then they beg. Why should we pay attention to them?

I agree, if they dont care enough to secure their account, why should we bother? I guess that is a bit harsh, but it is similar to identity theft in real life, if you dont get some security things going so this doesnt happen, your gonna get your credit card "hacked" lol.

I'm sorry but this is a useless idea and would be quite difficult to code. There are enough security features implemented to prevent ANYONE getting hacked (password, recovery questions, bank PIN etc.).

However, this will only work if your PC is also secure, ie you have anti-virus software and firewall software running. Making your PC secure will prevent the use of key-loggers.

I have been playing RS for several years now and have never been hacked
