Smithing is very difficult to do whilst making a profit.

I would try mining iron and making iron knives, just make sure you use rings of forging.

You should make a nice tidy profit if you sell them for a good price.

buy iron ore 100 each

buy coal 200 each

make steel bars and sell 600 each

woo profit!!!

then when you make a load you can buy tons of steel bars (off another guy doing this, thus keeping the cycle going) and smith them for extra exp

Barrows drops: 3. veracs brassard, torags hammers & dharoks greataxe (double drop)

Wat i did was get enough stuff to make 500 steel bars by mining the ores, smelt them together and sell for at least 500 ea sometimes you can get more.

After you sold them buy 1000 coal for no more than 190 ea, mine 500 iron and repeat.

After each set of steel is sold and coal bought you should have around 50-100k in your pocket.

are there many people buying gold bars in bulks then? never realized that

From a F2P player, here is my opinion:

Steel bars now sell for about 550ea at most now and rarely at 600ea.

That would then explain why coal is no longer sold at 200ea.

Coal usually sells for 180-190ea in large quantities whereas iron is roughly

90-100ea.

As for gold bars, I would not recommend selling gold bars.

I believe they sell for 250-300 ea but there is not a strong

demand for them which can be seen the ores and bars market

forum. Gold ores on the other hand sell for 300-400ea because

members who have that smelting gauntlet receive extra smithing

xp than without it.
