How far are you from your router, try buying an antenna(sp) they can boost signal strength and range.

Edit- What is your background? he he he

Is your machine a desktop or laptop?

Ok, you're wireless adapter seems to be acting up.

When did these problems start? Has it always been like this, ever since you went wireless?

How are things working on the host computer (the one where the router is)? If it's doing the same thing, try connecting an ethernet cable from your router to the host computer, and then see if that works. If it does, there's a wireless adapter problem/problem with your router's antenna.

Make sure your antenna is screwed in securely! That used to happen to me, when I first got my router. I would get a signal, which would drop every 5 minutes.

Have you done the usual? Such as, unplugging your modem for 45 seconds, and replugging?

Restarted your router via the small restart button (using a small pin)?

Unplugged the router for 45 seconds, and replugged?

Go through those one by one and post as you feel necessary.
