RuneScape Information

  1. It's fine how it was then. It's fine how it is now. WIll people ever learn to stop complaining? Not everything can fit everyones needs. :wall:
  2. There is another new art, buying money from gold websites. The average layer is getting bored of a game; they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll quit or buy money to advance their skills in the game, effectively cheating. It̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s why there are so many bots in the game, there is a huge demand for items for hard RL cash, if that market went then so would the autoers. I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think the teenagers/adults who buy this care about the community, nor do they care about others. :(
  3. Rioting has become the common thing now in RuneScape, I feel ashamed to play the game when I see people rioting because they didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like the update. If you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like it then I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t care, stop whining and find a game which will suit your every need, don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t threaten to quit, do it! :wall:
  4. If anyone has seen the following people, please PM me: Davestead16 Bullet__Time Neanta Ei No Bow37 They're all good friends, who haven't logged in for ages now :(
  5. RuneScape is filled of all sorts of different types of people, different genders, races and religions make up our community as you all know, but do you think RuneScape has changed us at all? :o As most of you know, over your life span in RuneScape and real life, you'll encounter different things, some will be funny or jolly, others will be rather depressing or sad, but we seem to overcome them in some way or another. Now, I've been playing this game for a number of years now, and I think I've changed, it wasn't a very dramatic change, but slight. I remember I used to speak in what's known as text speak, but as I realised I found out that it's not acceptable on the forums and that some people find it hard to understand, so in a way I changed to fit into my surroundings. So there is an example which could apply to the game, here is one which could apply in real life: Lest say you've just got a new job at this company you've been trying to get a job at for ages, but your personality isn't right for the job, maybe you'd try to change who you are to make yourself fit in more with your surroundings and to be able to get along with your fellow members of staff. There is another factor to this thread, some people like to level up the skills they enjoy, I remember when my mum was playing this game, she liked to level up cooking as it was one of her favourite things to do outside of game (she was quite a good cook if you ask me :P). I also enjoy climbing trees and absailing down cliffs, so I wonder why I like agility and woodcutting so much! Now onto the part which will really get your creative writing juices flowing, some people believe they must change in order to fit in, whether it be here in game/forums or outside of the game in a place known as "RL". I know there are a number of people here on the forums who think they should change to "fit in" here, but I don't think I'll name them in a hurry. So please post your thoughts!
  6. Hi, Welcome to my new thread, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it. My thread is about respect, now before you start moaning I know what your thinking, ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâoh no not another thread about respect! Socks must be running out of ideas̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ but no! if you think that then you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re about to be corrected, if your interested please read on. So what is respect, well I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve had a look around and found a definition, the definition of respect is the condition of being honoured (esteemed or respected or well regarded); "it is held in esteem"; "a man who has earned high regard". But not everyone can earn respect, and if everyone can, then you can*t always gain the same levels of this ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãârespect̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ that people like to talk so much about. So I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve made some interesting questions for you to answer, remember don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t just say the first thing that comes to mind, I want to see some well thought out responces which will be interesting to read, not just some one liner which I can read in a second, that won̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t get you much respect now will it. Questions: 1. What is respect to you? 2. How can you earn respect? 3. Because you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâhigh ranked̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ should you automatically be respected? Not you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t just have to stick to those three questions, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d be happy to add more as the thread gets larger and such, so you can start posting when you want! ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ What is respect to you? Respect is when someone looks up to you as a roll model, someone who they can trust and who is reliable, for example take my friend ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹ÃâJohn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ he likes to help people, but giving honest opinions which give feedback as well as praise. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ How can you earn respect? You can earn respect by being helpful and pleasant, and most importantly honest. You can*t go around giving false praise all the time, it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not honest and will show up badly on you. Another requirement is to be nice, if you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re not nice than how can you earn respect? You would have insulted too many people for people even to like you, let alone respect you. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Because you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâhigh ranked̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ should you automatically be respected? Not at all, everyone should be treated the same, until they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve shown that they are worthy of your respect, you can*t on a scale of one to ten give someone a ten because they were nice the one time you talked to them. You have to wait at least 2 or 3 weeks before you can make a proper judgement.
  7. RuneScape - Real Life Escape Hi and welcome to my new thread, by reading the title you should be able to work out what the thread is about, if not then I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll give you a hint. This thread is about RuneScape, and how many people use it as a portal to a virtual world where they can control their lives and live out their lives and they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d like to in the real world. One of the main reasons I play RuneScape is because I think it is a portal to a more fun world, and a way to escape from the harsh reality that is the world as we know it. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve made friends and enemies from all different corners of the world that I would have possibly never even met if I hadn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t played this game or had become part of an online community, and I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m glad I did make those friends and enemies. RuneScape can also teach you about factors of the real world, such as when you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re trying to get your favourite skill to level 99; it requires a lot of patience. You can apply that theory to the real world too such as when you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re building a house for example, you have to be patient and wait for it to be completed, as you know you cannot leave a job half done as it will look messy. So down to the questions: 1. Has RuneScape ever taught you about any aspects of real life? 2. Are you happy that you came across this game? 3. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? My answers: ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Has RuneScape ever taught you about any aspects of real life Yes it has, as I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve mentioned in the above post I said that the game has taught me that I need to be patient and that by working for something I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll benefit from it in the future. Even though something might take a long time it will be worth it in the end. The reason why I said that is because of my ambition to get 99 woodcutting, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve been working on it for some months now, and I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m getting very close at the moment and I can** wait until I achieve my goal. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Are you happy that you came across this game? I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m very happy that I came across this game, without it I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think I would have met some of the amazing friends I stay in contact with in the game.
  8. I haven̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t used low detail for some months now. The only time I do use low detail is when I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m running a virus scan, or something that needs high processing power for example.
  9. Oh I won̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t deny that I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t slightly flame other low levels from time to time, but this is mostly because they continually pester me, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m not a avid user of the ignore list, as I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t like that feature so I just set my chat to friends if I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t wish to talk to someone. Most of the time I would say ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâoh go away your annoying me̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ or in extreme cases I would say ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâomg why do you insist on pestering me constantly, go and ask some other poor soul̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢
  10. I'm a fellow woodcutter, working my way to 99 (95 at the moment), if i see you in game i'll remembre to say hi! :D
  11. (The title maybe slightly deceiving :P ) Hello and welcome to my thread, before we start off this conversational thread I would like to ask that you only post constructive comments and no remarks which may upset someone in any way, as I do not wish what this thread gets locked, or you get in trouble. Now we all know how it feels don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t we, we always have to be better than each other at something, well, Runescape is a competitive game after all, what do you expect. But then there are others which take it to the next level, if having to insult someone because their skills are not as good as the other player. I myself know how it feels, my skills are not that great nor am I the best person at quests, but I do enjoy playing the game without being insulted because I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t play as much as them. Now, I am not having a go at high level players, well done to you for having good stats and all, but why talk down to someone as if they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re lower than you. Everyone in the game should be treated how you would expect to be treated yourself, if you are one of those people reading this now, think of how it would feel if someone or even you, were called names, because that person or you didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t play the game much, or don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have enough time in the day to play the game, as I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d said, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m into being competitive with others, and trying to beat my friend to a level 99 skill, but name calling Is just wrong in my books.
  12. Some pictures of my road this morning: :D  :D
  13. Here is a picture to add to your thread :) .
