Suox
RuneScape - Real Life Escape Hi and welcome to my new thread, by reading the title you should be able to work out what the thread is about, if not then I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll give you a hint. This thread is about RuneScape, and how many people use it as a portal to a virtual world where they can control their lives and live out their lives and they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d like to in the real world. One of the main reasons I play RuneScape is because I think it is a portal to a more fun world, and a way to escape from the harsh reality that is the world as we know it. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve made friends and enemies from all different corners of the world that I would have possibly never even met if I hadn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t played this game or had become part of an online community, and I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m glad I did make those friends and enemies. RuneScape can also teach you about factors of the real world, such as when you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re trying to get your favourite skill to level 99; it requires a lot of patience. You can apply that theory to the real world too such as when you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re building a house for example, you have to be patient and wait for it to be completed, as you know you cannot leave a job half done as it will look messy. So down to the questions: 1. Has RuneScape ever taught you about any aspects of real life? 2. Are you happy that you came across this game? 3. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? My answers: ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Has RuneScape ever taught you about any aspects of real life Yes it has, as I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve mentioned in the above post I said that the game has taught me that I need to be patient and that by working for something I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll benefit from it in the future. Even though something might take a long time it will be worth it in the end. The reason why I said that is because of my ambition to get 99 woodcutting, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ve been working on it for some months now, and I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m getting very close at the moment and I can** wait until I achieve my goal. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ Are you happy that you came across this game? I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m very happy that I came across this game, without it I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t think I would have met some of the amazing friends I stay in contact with in the game. 99 Woodcutting goal: Complete! :D

CharlieBrown
Runescape hasn't taught me to much to be honest. Pehaps that scammers will always be scammers? Lol ok :P Runescape has taught me a little bit that i could apply to real life. Its taught me that not all can be trusted, however those who can be trusted should be trusted. I know that may sound a lil odd but thats my theory. As you have mentioned it's also taught me to be a little more patient. I think of myself as pretty patient but yes, runescape has taught me to be even more (ift thats possible :-s ) I'm happy that i came accross this game. Its really helped me in times of bordem when i needed a sort of get away. It lets me go into a place where i can meet a whole new list of new friends and laugh at the odd people that really do exist in real life as we know it. I do however agree on the how you act on a game shows basicly how you, do or want, if you had the chance, to act in real life . Runescape can also bring out the best in many people. Because your hiding behind another persons face it allows you to speak your mind. I much prefer reality. I may have some awesome friends in runescape but lets be honest. How often are you ever going to see their real face. I love being able to go to a group of friends and just hang out with them. I know you can do this in runescape but its just not the same. If it wasn't for them, this game would not exist for me. 3. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? icecube
1. Has RuneScape ever taught you about any aspects of real life? Yes, people often value friendship very lowly when they don't actually see the person, ie. internet friendships, and often don't feel any remorse when they destroy these friendships. 2. Are you happy that you came across this game? Not really. Just wasted a lot of my time that I could have spent doing more productive activities. Even the friends I've made on the game haven't made it worth it really, since most of these friends don't talk to me outside of the game. 3. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? Real life

It's a game where the whole point is whacking on weird creatures with weird weapons wearing weird stuff. 2. Are you happy that you came across this game? Yea 3. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? Virtual life is a lot easier, but at least you can build op real friendships and such irl. Anyone who picks cirtual life over rl must have issues. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? 1. Yes, every day I see that the population of idiots will soon equal the population of humans. 2. Of course. 3. VR. There are more morons in RL than RS. (Probably something like 95% of rsers are ignorant, 97% of humans are...) There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves. Jmz91
1. Has RuneScape ever taught you about any aspects of real life? Yes. It's taught me to respect others, be a bit more friendly and that hard work does pay off in the end. It's also showed me how leetspeakers look irl. (stupid...) 2. Are you happy that you came across this game? Yes, although sometimes I regret playing a bit too much, but who cares, it's worked and my real life has not been at one minute challenged or affected by the game. 3. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? Real life, forever, one day, this game will not exist and what memories will I look back on? I think I'd rather feel a bit more in real life than on some online game. Besides, there's some feelings that only come to you in real life  1600+ Total 96 Combat 1656th to 99 Firemaking. Which do you prefer: virtual reality or real life? 1. Yeah, aspects of the market, the way to plan things and the manage money. Useful, and a rough guide to Real life in some occasions. 2. Yeah, it's fun, challenging and made new friends. Even though it is addictive. My life wouldn't be any worse if i hadn't ever played it though. 3. Real life. No matter how simple things can be in rs, real life always beats it, no hesitation on that.
