Suox
(The title maybe slightly deceiving :P ) Hello and welcome to my thread, before we start off this conversational thread I would like to ask that you only post constructive comments and no remarks which may upset someone in any way, as I do not wish what this thread gets locked, or you get in trouble. Now we all know how it feels don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t we, we always have to be better than each other at something, well, Runescape is a competitive game after all, what do you expect. But then there are others which take it to the next level, if having to insult someone because their skills are not as good as the other player. I myself know how it feels, my skills are not that great nor am I the best person at quests, but I do enjoy playing the game without being insulted because I don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t play as much as them. Now, I am not having a go at high level players, well done to you for having good stats and all, but why talk down to someone as if they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re lower than you. Everyone in the game should be treated how you would expect to be treated yourself, if you are one of those people reading this now, think of how it would feel if someone or even you, were called names, because that person or you didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t play the game much, or don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have enough time in the day to play the game, as I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d said, I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m into being competitive with others, and trying to beat my friend to a level 99 skill, but name calling Is just wrong in my books. 99 Woodcutting goal: Complete! :D

meb
Bla bla bla bla I'm so mature look at me bla bla bla That aside, I think that in a game of 12-year olds you shouldn't expect anything else. It's excactly the same in real life. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Infernosage4
Just ignore them I say. They're just arrogant players who (Ok people nothing against PC for high level training and I even use it myself sometimes so... No flaming pl0x? :ohnoes: ) have spent their entire Runescape career at the Void Knight Outpost. Some people are just like that in any event. Runescape is obviously a competitive game just as JaGex has designed it. If you were to take out the competitivness these players would be, of course, extict. But in the course of doing this the game itself would have no point because almost everyone has a goal or are racing their friend to a certain stat, cash goal, etc. I just say to ignore them and move on. And thank yourself you're not like them. 269 QP | All Stats 60+ (except Summoning) | Barrows Drops: 8 | Dragon Drops:
Wkw
I only talk down to jerks and noobs. Not newbs. If someone askes me where to get X item, I'll tell them if I know. However if someone TELLS me to give them x item, i'l tell them off. Runescape player since 2005 Ego Sum Deus Quo Malum Caligo et Barathum

tha_boas
Now, I am not having a go at high level players, well done to you for having good stats and all, but why talk down to someone as if they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re lower than you. MOST of the lower level'd players tend to ask alot of stuff. For instance, when I got my prayercape X-months ago I was almost instantly asked to do the emote when I got to edge ... So I did the emote. 5 minutes later I was asked again so I did again. 10 minutes later I was asked again ... I started ignoring the messages cause I knew i'd have to do it every 5 minutes and doing the emote 50+ times a day is a bit to often for my liking :) Say what you want but when you get asked the same question over and over and you start disliking being asked the same all the time then you start thinking lower of those asking you the stuff. And since MOSTly the lower level'd players ask the stuff ... I like to help out players but I dont want to help out on the same thing over and over and over again. And with all this pming me and asking me questions i have to say that i started ignoring lower levels. And i'm in a clan with 110+ reqs and such so I basically only talk to those who are 110+ and well yea, when you only talk to 'higher levels' you basically start finding those lower levels who ask same stuff over and over obsolete. :| And o yea me being lvl 126cmb can't really make a difference between high levels and low levels, for me 105- is rather low level'd and 120 are those who i meet the most but then again my clan has 24 126s so yea. ^^bleh lol i'm tired and i cant stop typing, even when it doesnt makes sense
jessy87
what an attention grabbing title, my speach teacher would have been impressed(i think) but its kind of a negative anger in-dosing(sp?) title... that seems like it would only start controversy. i dont talk down to player like 79-75 combat and under... unless they are jerks or annoy me. any1 between like 80 and 110 i talk down to anyway, because they are usually full of them selves. thats just how i am. i dont honestly care if it makes me a bad person, i know what i do and i know the negative aspects of this or that. ill make up for it somewhere else. I always show it when i'm asked friendly, if they're like 'do cape emote', i'll just continue training like someone never said that. Some people dream of success, while others make it happen. Kill_Thomas9
I find that high level players talk down to other players less that low levels do. Unless the high level is a jerk, this is one of the only situations I can think of where you might see a high level talk down to a low level: A 30 goes up to up to a level 100 who just killed a monster he was going to attack, and he says "omg you noob!". The level 100 might say "I'm the noob??!". Then the level 30 says "at least i dont waste all my time getting high levels!!", to which the 100 responds "At least i have high levels" One other situation might be: Level 50: "looking for 100+ wrld!!" Level 100: "you're only level 50."
Myweponsg00d
I don't talk down to anybody because of something game based. The only people I talk down are ones that are jerks. I agree with this. I don't use the term "noob" to insult someone for having lower stats, but I definitely call people noobs when they are being rude, ignorant, or otherwise unpleasant. Or when they try to talk about something in which they have no authority...that really aggrivates me. Need assistance in any of these skills? qeltar
I went from low level to medium level to high level fairly quickly. I found that the maturity and kindness of MOST players my level improved constantly as I went up. Are there some bad apples who are high level? Sure. But on the whole, most high levels are FAR nicer players than lower levels are. ~q Qeltar, aka Charles KozierokWebmaster, RuneScoop - Premium RuneScape Information for Expert Players -- Now Free!Featuring the Ultimate Guide to Dungeoneering -- everything you need to know to get the most of the new skill! fakeitormakeit
Don't label higher levels, because alot of high levels are friendly. It isn't a certain lvl, its being a jerk or not. Sometimes people can also misunderstand because its communication through a computer and you can't here the tone of the text for example when I was talking with a friend online and she said ok I felt she was not interested in the story until I remembered when she is deep into a story she just says ok lol. Bauke
Well... I'm a lvl 113 player (considerably high) and I see myself forced to ignore or talk down on people at some times. Simply because with being a high level person you just attract lots of irritating people trying to get items from you or just want to "use" you. People starting a normal conversation or asking reasonable things always get a reasonable answer, and I think this is the case with most high (and higher) leveled people. And also the reason why lots of em have public chat off. But ofcourse there are always people that think they're better than others simply based on xp... bsmovies
it just depends. some higher levels (100+) do think they own the world, and treat you like dirt. but in undestand, then they treat beggars and annoying people like that. but it just depends, e.g. im level 88 atm, and was training hunter, and some level 109/119 (cant remember) comes along, and it was okay, as there was enough space for 2, and instead of him treating me like dirt, we started chatting, and now were good mates. Dalcyte
i get the jist of what you're saying. The worst people are the people that aren't good, and brag about their "main" and how they have "3" 99s, even though the high scores must be glitched because they're not showing it :P Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it
Tim
Here's my theory: I always think that how you act in real life is how its reflected in runescape. though some are proberly people who get picked on for being retatred, fat etc etc all those stupid excuses and so they vent their frustration on players lower than them in runescape. im only cb90 with a low total and bad money maker, however i play to keep my friendlyness how its always been, though i tend to yell my pixel head off at some online bullies for acting so tough and mighty. my friends cousin has started playing rs and is lv 35, i teached him some castle wars to show him and people just yelled noob when they attacked him, so what did I do? me and some mates (lv 92 and 97) owned any1 at cw who killed him or called him noob. OT: Like said earlyer, we were ALL that level once so stop looking down on people or else i'll cut ya legs off and I will have to look down on YOU! :shame: Popoto.~<

I never pick on anyones stats, your stats are your stats, what level they are depends on how you wish to play your game, and what stats interest you, and how much you play.........making up fake ones on the other hand is a bit lame, IMHO :) :XD: :uhh: Anywho...happy clicking. Chocobodude0
Ignore it. Just because they're better than you in a game doesn't mean they're better than you in RL. Plus, you're always better than them at SOMETHING. For example, you're better than them at not telling people that you're better than them. :D
Daviduhlich
A new player needs a lot of help getting started, because Runescape seems so complicated. They go to the high lvls because to them combat is the only obvious sign of experience and know-how. Low lvls outnumber high lvls by a ton, and even more in f2p. So a lot of times we'll get burnt out by so many questions, and we just sort of pretend the low lvl isn't there. I'm guilty of this myself sometimes. It doesn't solve anything, because they still don't know the answer to their question and they just move on to the next player, and the next, and so on. I guess if nothing else, we high lvls should atleast direct our admirers to the knowledge base or something
Cryptogram
I try to be nice, but sometimes give up. For example... Person: Umm, 119. Theiving lvl? Me: 80 Person: Nice. Me: Thx, you? Person: Can you give me 100k so I can get sharks for DT Me: ... Person: plz (follows me around) Person: Plz can you plz Etc. Luckily this doesn't happen often, but when it does it's annoying as refusal or silence inevitably leads to resentment and insults. Don't follow me.
