Hi Alch Steel Platebody

Featured Replies

Everyone says this is a fast way of making money. I don't get it though.

Steel Platebody = 1.2k

---

Nature Rune = 300gp

Coal = 200gp x 10 = 2k

Iron = 75gp x 5 = 375gp

2675gp

----------

Then how is this a good way of making money?

It's not a fast way of making money. It's a fast way to lvl smithing without too much loss.

In order to make money doing that, you'd have to mine your own ores and craft your own nats.

Its only a good source of money if you get all your own materials. But in members its good for high alching, since you can buy them off other players for about 1k each then craft your own nats and make a 200gp profit per plate, which adds up after 10k plates :lol:

the point is only to save money on smithing

I get my nats from training on moss giants, I mine all my ores and smelt and smithe them all. Pure profit.

its merely a good way to make more cash on an item considering you gather your own materials plus gain magic exp whithout losing money

high alching steel plates = win win situation

You must gather your own materials if you wish to make any sort of cash with smithing.

This starts to fade in effect once you hit smithing rune. :)

Does anyone happen to know death_siren? She stole a green mask from me, and I think I found my way into her ignore list. If you know anything, please, don't hesitate to give me a pm.

Steel plate alching works in several ways:

1. You supply & make everything (members runecrafting nats). Trainbs skills and returms pure profit.

2. F2P, buying nats... dispose of plates at 1200 minus cost of nats.

3. P2P, make nats & buy plates in bulk at < 1200

Those are the combinations which generally make money, or train skills cheap - if you buy raw materials, smithing is usually a money losing skill, unless you only make & sell bars.
