Guide to Making Buddies

Introduction

 

Ever thought about how they make the buddies that you like? Well it's not like a doll factory or anything this is pure concertration! This guide will teach you on how to make buddies with ease, and yeah, if this makes you open a buddy shop. Don't, we already got enough as it is, just work for one and it would make things easier. So please enjoy this guide ^.^

 

Your tools

 

Right, I'm using Phototshop to make this one, this part will tell you what your going to be using.

 

Here is the Rectangular Marquee Tool. This is a very important tool. Without it you won't get very far. Press M to use or click the symbol as shown.

 

 

The move tool is another essintial tool for moving vertain peices press V or click the Symbol.

 

 

And for removing the white background, the Magic Wand! This is how you remove the white background! Haven't I said this enough in my shop? Press W or click the symbol.

 

 

Now those are your new freinds for making buddies, of course, the earaser is always useful, but I rarely use that.

 

Making the Buddy

 

Your now set and ready to go, make sure you have your kit(s) loaded up so they are easy to acces without any trouble. Okie Dokey, lets make a buddy. First off, choose the Upper and lower buddy for starters by using the Marquee tool as shown:

 

 

Once your happy, Press "Ctrl + C" This will copy the box you made. Now go to "New" and set it too pixels and the size should be 125 x 125. This should give you a good average set of work space. For Weapons etc. Now for Paste, it's Ctrl + V. Okay now use Zoom Tool and use till it's 200% to make things perfect. Okay, so now you use your magic wand! On the whte background, remember, white background is carried with the Box is copied! Like shown below! Press Delete to get rid of the white background when using it! Also, make sure when your done using the Magic wand, Right Click and choose De-Select!

 

 

If it's still there it's because you haven't binned the background! You can do this by going to layers and clicking on background and the Bin icon, this should delete it. Now you need to create new layers, use the Marquee Tool again and use it around the legs, right click and select, Layer Via Cut, this should create a new layer so you can now move the legs! Attach it the Upper Body. Like So:

 

 

For adding the head in, do the same as getting the Body and Legs, use the Marquee tool and make a box around the head you want to use and always remember to use Ctrl + C to Copy! Use Ctrl + V to paste! But it should turn out like...

 

 

Use the Magic Wand on the white background and press Delete. Bang! It's gone! So now, you can move it to where you want it! Do the same process for gloves, boots, cape etc until you come up with something which can look similar to this:

go to runehq for kits, the guide looks easy to follow, but maybe an addition to doing in paint etc? i'm sure most people use paint rather than photoshop.

yes, but paint makes it remotly challenging, so people steer clear of it....a nice written guide, I guess I have to accept buddies..I just won't like emm...
