Does anyone else find that these guys were a true set of revolutionaries in your life? I foudn that they really changed my opinion on thigns, I now worship Zack de la rocha. I find that he is a true renegade(no pun intended)

Rage Against the Machine Homepage

Tom morello, is one of my most favourite guitarist, and if you listen to the songs, de la rocha is a frekain genious/excellent songwriter. he pours emotion into his songs, and you cna feel it in the rest of the instrumentation. Bullet in the Head, Bulls on Parade, Killing in the Name of, Know your Enemy, Renegades of Funk, Guerilla Radio. for me these guys pioneered political funk rock.

unfortunately my parents are that fond of it. i must tell you that it does include some coarse language.

my fav. lyrics by them:

No escape from the mass mind **pe

Play it again jack and then rewind the tape

Play it again and again and again

Until ya mind is locked in

Believin' all the lies that they are tellin' ya

Buying all the products that they are selling ya

They say jump

Ya say how high

Ya brain dead

Ya gotta f**k*n' bullet in your head

it really is genious. then guerilla radio:

Contact I highjacked the frequencies

Blockin the beltway

Move on DC

Way past the days of bombin MCs

Sound off Mumia guan be free

Who gottem yo check the federal file

All you pen devils know the trial was vile

Army of pigs try to silence my style

Off em all out that box its my radio dial

and of course calm like a bomb:

I was born landless

Yes its tha native son

Born of Zapatas guns

Stroll through the shanties

And tha cities remains

Same bodies buried hungry

But with different last names

The vultures robbin everything

Leave nothing but chains

Pick a point on the globe

Yes tha pictures tha same

Theres a bank, theres a church, a myth and a hearse

A mall and a loan, a child dead at birth

Theres a widow pig parrot

A rebel to tame

A whitehooded judge

A syringe and a vein

And the riot be the rhyme of the unheard

and last but not least know your enemy:

Something must be done

About vengeance, a badge and a gun

cause Ill rip the mike, rip the stage, rip the system

I was born to rage against em

-------

Now I got no patience

So sick of complacence

With the d the e the f the I the a the n the c the e

Mind of a revolutionary

So clear the lane

The finger to the land of the chains

What? the land of the free?

Whoever told you that is your enemy?

----

Theyre the teachers who taught me to fight me

Compromise, conformity, assimilation, submission

Ignorance, hypocrisy, brutality, the elite

All of which are american dreams (8 times)

just so powerful, i grew up with these guys, and now i think im tainted. Zack is my hero.

My sister saw them live back in '94. I saw Audioslave last year and Tom, Brad, and Tim played Bulls on Parade without Chris on stage (So it was just the RATM members); pretty cool. They also played some other RATM songs with Chris on vocals.

And if Zach was a real revolutionary he would have done something post-2000

Yeah, Rage is great music. It's a bit of a mixture between the funkyness of RHCP and the agression found in QotSA. Of course Audioslave and Soundgarden are relevant other bands, but I do prefer Rage for its hard lyrical quality and the high headbang and shouting factor.

Bill Hicks[/url]":dhj2kan9]Since the one thing we can say about fundamental matter is, that it is vibrating. And since all vibrations are theoretically sound, then it is not unreasonable to suggest that the universe is music and should be perceived as such.

i obly like the one song killing in the name of lol =D>

Yeah, then it all got boring from then on. Same lyrics, same song message, and same music from every song. It got very boring.

...

I kind of agree with the song message part, but the lyrics and instrumentals were very good in every song. Not much alike in my opinion, like "Bulls on Parade" vs. "Guerilla Radio"... very different sounds. IMO at least.

Tom Morello has some very interesting ways to make his guitar sound good. I saw a video about how he did it on youtube and all I can say is

PS: Audioslave is good too
