fgfuyfyuiuy0
I'm putting in CD's, and my CD drive isn't reading them. The CD-ROM Drive doesn't even show up in "My Computer". I've switched it from Master to Slave, and then to Master again. I've tried changing the Boot Sequence, and re-plugging in all the cords. It doesn't spit back the CD, it just doesn't read it, or even show-up in "My Computer". Help? :? I <3 Gears of War 2. Gordo525
Operating System p10x?Also your System Specification. Its most likely that your software for the drive is in need of a Troubleshoot.Have you tried mucking around with your hardware at all, or any important software? I know exactly what you mean, its just ruining the whole game for everybody, this is the worst update since noobs.
fgfuyfyuiuy0
I have a Dell, and I haven't messed with anything. But the odd thing is, once I got un-grounded, I noticed MS Paint, and Calculator disappeared, without a trace. It's so odd. I've been grounded the whole time, and when I come back, tons of stuff is gone. I <3 Gears of War 2. Gordo525
Meddling siblings?Basically if the drive directory isnt there then you are going to need to search for the hardware manually.Since you havent told me what Operating System you are using (i mean like XP/ME/2000/98 etc) I cant really help you.I have a Dell as well,it shouldnt really make any difference though. fgfuyfyuiuy0
(Pretty much telling you all) Microsoft Windows XP Version 2002, and if it was my sister's, I'd kill them  I <3 Gears of War 2. fgfuyfyuiuy0
I think I might've found the problem. The "TSSTcorp CDRWDVD TS-H492C" has an exclamation mark, so there might be a problem. I have a problem updating it. Should I disable/un-install it, or what? I <3 Gears of War 2. Gordo525
Basically what I would do in this situation is go and interrorgate my family and see what has happened.Try using a System Restore Point, and restore your system to before you were grounded. If you have tried to add a new hard drive as a slave, then your CD Drive would have its "letter" taken away from it.I would put a link to a program that locates all drives on your PC,but tip.itwont let me.I'm sure if you emesen me though I could probably help you with this link,my emesen link is in my user profile.Im not sure how well it will work.Another solution would be to scan your hard drive for hardware. You can do this by clicking "Control Panel" in your Start Menu.Tehn go to "Add Hardware",click "Yes, I have already attached the hardware" and search for your disk drive amongst the listed hardware.I'm fresh outta ideas now, but no one else seems to be replying to this.Best bet is to use a System Restore point (Start>All Programs>Accesories>System Tools>System Restore) and find a date before you were off the PC,it should revert all software and hardware changes to this date.Apart from this, I dont really know much else. fgfuyfyuiuy0
I did the Ad Hardware, and it said the TSST is corrupted or un-finished. I'll go with system restore. I <3 Gears of War 2. Gordo525
Well tell me how you get on with it,System Restore is usually always good.If your CD Drive is cirrupted(which I dont know how that could happen, since it doesnt store data, it just reads it) then I have no idea on what to do, but since im the only one helping at the moment, System Restore seems to be your best bet. Chris
If you still have problems tell me what's in the equivalent red box of your drive. Notoriously Trollish.
fgfuyfyuiuy0
This is what it says in properties: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device." I <3 Gears of War 2. TheLeader
I know the whole problem!!! I've got a laptop with the same problem! By the way, have you installed iTunes recently? 1. Click Start, then Run, type REGEDIT and click OK. 2. Locate and then remove the following registry values: * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}LowerFilters * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}UpperFilters 3. Close Registry Editor. 4. Reboot the system for the changes to take effect. If the files are not there, or are names slightly different, do not delete them, it could bugger up your pc.
