Alright, im 92 cb, 70 def, 52 prayer and its taking me 4 p pots (4) a trip to do 1 run of barrows. I'm using fire blast and im 71 magic...how can i cut down the number of p pots im using?? I can't use slayer dart, but i can switch to ancients, although i really would like to avoid that.

All help is appreciated

Well, first off you could actually start substituting a prayer potion or two for food. You can easily kill guthan, torag and verac without prayer with just using a couple sharks instead. In the long run saving you alot of cash.

Instead of wearing magic gear - wear melee gear. Something like veracs if you can afford it. Or even rune works well.

Work on slayer. Slayer dart owns those guys. Or, you could always take some runes for ensnare and use that on some of them.

Edit: In a good run - I use two or less doses of prayer potions. I use prayer to kill dharok and karil - what's left goes to ahrim, and just fight verac, torag and guthan without prayer.

Of course.. It's hard to get a perfect run like that ^^

Thanks, im using full ghostly lol, i should switch to split bark/ obby shield

I would recommend a prayer book instead, unless you are meleeing them?

Also, you don't need to really wear magic based gear on these guys, try wearing rune for a trip and see how it goes - should save you some prayer potions.

Since they're magic defense is rediculously low, even with a negative magic attack bonus it can still hit them.

I'm currently level 85 and I use only 1 prayer potion per run, instead of ghostly robes wear monk robes with prayer book and holy symbol, prayer bonus really helps, and i kill guthan, torag, and ahrim without prayer.

Lamest attempt at a lure ever.
No, Ive seen "selling easter egg 5m must be level 78 77 or 76 and meet at varrock bar unarmed.

No im maging, im thinking obby shield because, if im not going to use prayer on some of the brothers it adds protection.

Its either all or nothing. Wear Full Melee armor, or full mage armor (i recommend the former STRONGLY, mage armor does next to nothing in barrows), because if you mix and match, you wont get enough of either.

As Runescapefan said, Wear Melee armor (verac's armor is especially useful for this), and mage the brothers in melee armor. To further save money, do not use Blast or Wave spells, stick to either Darts or Fire Bolt with chaos guantlets.

For the record, i use 1 Super attack, 1 super Restore and 1 prayer dose per chest loot.

Is there a problem with torags in the barrows? From what I see it has superior melee protection to Veracs the only negatives being a negative mage def bonus but if you pray on Ahrim then no harm done? Just replace the plate with a black dhide body to get your range bonus on Ahrim.

I can see the negative mage attack being a problem but if you use Slayer dart then mage bonus has no effect.

So my question is why take Veracs?

Slayer dart is affected by mage bonus. Try maging Karlis in rull rune and vambs. Then do it in Ahrims and all the mage bonus equipment you can find. I garentee you will see a lot less splashes.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

I use 1 dose per run, pray on dharok, karil, and whats left on verac, the rest with no pray.

If i was you i would use full arhims with slayer dart and all prayer and mage bonuses you got, personally i use full arhim, glory, god cape, pray book, mystic boots and gloves and holy wrench, then switch to full karil for killing arhim.

guthan torag and arhim will hit you rarely although i do get runs where i get hit 22/22/22 on torag but i think everyone gets that on times, and same with guthan, just make sure you have enough food to go tunnels.

P.S. i am about your combat lvl so this should be fine for you.

:edit: i know you dont have slayer dart what i meant was to work towards slayer dart first cause in my opinion that and house tele with karrhyl teleport are the most essential things to doing barrows.

So my question is why take Veracs?

1. Verac's Armor has 27 less Mage Penalty over Torag's armor, so you can quite confortably fit +15 mage bonus in there.

2. Prayer Bonus. Since you are gonna be praying against quite a few opponents anyway, why not wear something that would help you in that regard too? Verac is good.

What satenza is true. Slayer Dart is indeed affected by Mage Bonus. In fact if you let your mage bonus fall below -15, you will definitely notice the splash against even the melee brothers.

That is true about Slayer Dart. Still not alot of splashes. Unless you are on an unlucky run.

Fair enough. I stand corrected. I had also forgotten about the prayer bonus on Verac's. Cheers for setting me straight. I posted a more detailed thing on Sat's Archive thread so as not to totally drag this one off topic.
