September 7, 200619 yr Ok, so I'm currently 77 magic. For a long time I've wanted to have level 85 magic, as I think it would be awesome. However, I'm kind of stuck on how to get there. I've thought about alching, but I'd need about 26k alchs, and seeing I despise fletching, I'm not really intent on going that way. [i'd be stringing mage longs, so as to get me level 90 fletching.] Anyway, if alching really is the best way, then I'm sure I'll survive, but if anyone can suggest some other method that won't leave my bank empty, that would be great! [i've heard cursing is a pretty cheap way to get there, but can't you only curse each monster once? Anyway, if someone could explain to me how cursing works, that would be great, too.] Cool.
September 7, 200619 yr Cursing: Basically you get the worst magic attack bonus you can and cast curse on someone and it will mostly miss, but you get the same amount of exp. for a succesful curse as a failed curse. Since you fail most of the time tho you can cast multiple times on the same enemy. It is cheap but I found it pretty boring, I managed to get 200 curses on the zammy monk in Varrock palace then I quit because I am not a fan of magic (so I'm sure it'd be different for you). To cast multiple times on one opponent: 1) Wear full metal armour (I think even full iron works as well as full rune), and no amulets that give bonuses. 2) Try to cast on someone with a high mage defense, as you will miss more often. Just follow those 2 rules (1 ecspecially) and you should be a cursing machine. Goals: 80/80 Range, 75/90 Strength, 77/85 Attack, 64/76 Fishing and crafting 31k natures (o.O)
September 7, 200619 yr My method's a bit slower, but you'll make alil more money at the same time. Keep in mind, if you do NOT want to level hp also, then this is not a good method. Buy a *huge* load of airs and chaoses. Go mage dragon in Hero's guild basement. Sell hides and bones (Hides 2k, Bones 2.5k) Rebuy chaos and airs. Lather, rinse, repeat till desired magical fluffiness. A man who doesn't read, is no smarter than a man who can't read.
September 7, 200619 yr I would recommend enchanting with mud staff in the mage training arena. Cosmics are pretty cheap. Pest control is also good, expecially if you use mage in the game Cursing is not super fast, but it is almost free exp. If you decide to curse get your mage bonus to -65 or worse, and you will never hit.
September 7, 200619 yr Author Thank you for the suggestions! I think I'll probably go with pest control or cursing. Cool.
