Tigra00
Anyone know where I could find a 16x DVD-ROM for a reasonable price? I have a Dell Dimension 2400, Pentium 4. I finally figured out that the reason GTA: SA and Company of Heroes will not run on my computer is because I do not have a DVD-ROM, I only have the ordinary "Compact Disc" drives. I didn't notice this before, probably because I'm an idiot and took the stores word for it when I asked if it came with a DVD-ROM. They apparently lied when they said "Yep, sure does." I've been looking around, but I don't know much about computers and would hate to buy the wrong thing. Anyone got a link? I'm sure it wouldn't take more than a couple minutes for someone with knowledge to find one. I just want to be sure I grab the right thing, you know. Anyways, if anyone who finds the best deal wants, I can give ya' a World of Warcraft 10-day trial code if you want it. :P I have one left over from a game-card I bought and I don't need it because I don't play, so if you want to try the game out or something... : Thanks! Stuart_G
You might aswell just get a DVD burner, cause its always handy to be able to burn large amounts of data to DVD in case you need to format or just back up all your data. Something like this should do quite nicely

Tigra00
Just found out the one that was linked to me was an OEM drive, not retail, so it comes with no software apparently... Hooray for wrong information and wasted money. Mercifull
Theres nothing wrong with OEM drives, cheaper and you can get all the software/drivers you need from the internet Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. zonda
for some reason I've always had problems putting new drives in dell computers. There was never any room in the cases I was working with, we ended up taking the dvd drive back and having to get a external, other wise we would have had to get a laptop dvd drive. ... Stuart_G
Windows picks up most CD/DVD drives these days and will install the required drivers needed so they are pretty much plug and play. Because you already had a CD drive, it was just a matter of taking the old one out and sticking the new one in, so no new connectors needed, which is why i listed the OEM drive for you. Sorry for any confusion you may have had about it :anxious:
