RAHK
My player owned house is, and has been, strictly for leveling con. I have experimented with a few rooms and found out that you can block a room completely off... :-w (feel free to come and see my stranded kitchen before I demolish it O:) ) I now know the rooms that I want and roughly where I want them but I do not know which rooms can be placed where. For example, I doubt that I can place a throne room underground due to the fact that I will need to put the Oubliette underneath it. Here are my questions and please only answer if you know for 100% sure or have a tested answer for the open-ended questions: 1. Which rooms CANNOT go below the ground floor? 2. Can normal rooms be placed on the same floor and connected to a dungeon (dining room, workshop, etc.)? 3. Can you build a room, build a room past that one, and demolish the middle room to leave the other free floating? 4. Are there any rooms that perform better on the top floor? 5. Do I need a room with stairs leading down if I have a throne room with a functional ladder on the same level? 6. Does anybody have a clue as to whether marble and other expensive things lag more or less compared to their less expensive versions? 7. Is there any way to destroy a set of stairs without losing the rooms below/above? 8. Any recommendations for versions of items? I.e. The marble stairs are worth the price because you can slide on them! :^o My plan is to setup my house in the following manner: If I can put the throne room underground (doubt it) I will. All of the other rooms will be below ground if possible. The portals will contain all of the teles except yanille which is where my house will be. P.S. The title joke is due to this thread: Did you say free con AND smithing xp?! Version 1.3 CLEARER!!. :-$ PM me in game to use some skills of mine (glories/potions) free or to ask a question.Fire Cape - 04/29/06 Lvl 104RAHK's Pro PC Gear and Guide(clickable) Tired of hack and slash? primadog
Throne room must be in ground floor because of the Oubliette. I checked that I believe most rooms can be put into the basements, ones that I know for sure: combat game kitchen dining workshop quest skill dungeon (obviously) You can connect your dungeon with your normal rooms. One popular idea is put your combat ring as part of your dungeon 3. You can leave a room free-floating if you like. 4. Portals, quest, and altar are better off on the ground floor to aid barrowing and teleing 5. no, you do not need the stairs 6. donno, I think lag's more dependent on # of rooms 7. donno 8. RAHK
Have my babies, primadog? Lol, I believe that I am not properly equipped to give birth but thanks again for the help. :D Now I just need to add up the number of marble blocks and gold leaf that I will need. :| 3 marble, 10 gold leaf, 10 cloth, 2 limestone, 9 teak, 13 oak, 35 mahog, 11 clockworks, 4 steel, 3 glass is roughly... too much, lol. One more: Is the lag based on the first floor or all combined housing items/rooms? primadog
combined room. I have half of my house in the basement and it still lags quite badly. BTW, you can slide on teak spirals too. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it

Wish I would have seen this 3mil ago, lol. Oh well, the big ticket items are already in the right spot. Just need to slash and burn the empty and not so empty rooms. :x PM me in game to use some skills of mine (glories/potions) free or to ask a question.Fire Cape - 04/29/06 Lvl 104RAHK's Pro PC Gear and Guide(clickable) Tired of hack and slash? Raven6666
for your question number 4: A study works best on a top floor as it has a telescope also, what do you mean slide on them for spiral stairs? is that a special feature?

RAHK
for your question number 4: A study works best on a top floor as it has a telescope also, what do you mean slide on them for spiral stairs? is that a special feature? It was a joke. I was just asking if there are any features that pieces of furniture made from more expensive materials give that are hidden. Not likely but it wouldn't shock me.
