An Eagle scout is a boy/cub scout that has been there since the start and has showed exeptional dedication to ... "being a scout" and is honored by being allowed to be an eagle scout, who can do alot of things ... like helping the community in a big way...

What did I do for the project??

 

 

 

Well, the point of the project is to show leadership... not neccessarily do a big project... but what I did was at the church we meet at, they have an attic area, that needed walls and shelves. The fire marshall kept yelling at the church for breaking fire code. So, I put up (ok, I directed others to put up) 2,000 sqaure feet of wall, and shelves. It took a while... :)

 

 

 

But yeah, I look back at what boy scouts has done for me... a lot! Tons of leadership skills. something like 50% of the eagle scouts from my community get up to being CFO or CEO or president or other high possition in a company. I dont really like buisness... I'll go fly instead. But yeah, its pretty impressive. Every astronaut in the Apollo program was required to have been an eagle scout.

 

 

 

When joining US marines, air force, navy, or army, you start at a rank 1 or 2 spots higher than normal.

 

 

 

All you kids who are 12 or so... up to say 14, scouting is incredible! Yeah, it might be kinda weird in some aspects... but so much of what I have learned has come from being a scout. It also got me interested in a lot of outdoor stuff... rock climbing... mountain biking... backpacking... you name it... I love that kind of stuff now.

ive recently got my life award, so im working on some more merit badges for my eagle now, not sure what im going to do for my project yet.

Anyways, it took me 4 years from start to finish from joining scouts to eagle... a little bit faster than most. The eagle rank itself took about... I'd say 18 months. Work work work work!

Congrats. I abandoned my aspects of obtaining the Queen Scout award (Australia's version of Eagle Scout) very early into venturers. Mainly because the venturer units in the district weren't exactly active. So most required activities weren't actually impossible to achieve.
