October 2, 200619 yr Okay, i've decided to format i've got about 5gb of songs, documents, programs etc backed up but what do i need to dig out the install disks for? Stuff like, antivirus etc. It's been years since i formatted this comp and i can't remember what i need to do to get my comp running fast and securely... any help? :)

October 2, 200619 yr Author hahah, i know your trying to help matt :) but i really want to format anyway, i'm sick of this computer being so full of crap! plus i've backed everything up so it'd be a waste not to 8-)
October 2, 200619 yr That's the problem with the MSBlaster worm, second you connect to the internet you can get it. I got it 4 times once just trying to download the damn patch. I eventually got the patch installed before I got the worm, but it sucked [wagon].
October 2, 200619 yr drivers...Unless you're using really obscure drivers, Windows will get them for you - or you'll have an install cd for the hardware.

I don't know of any drivers that windows will get for you.... despite it having the option to connect to the internet and search for you, I have yet to ever "find" drivers this way. I have always had to use my mobo / sound card / videocard / mouse / wireless card / you-name-it CD or website. ...
