October 6, 200619 yr Today I asked this high level ranger who he didn't use Karils insteat of black dhide. He said that he didn't want to pay so much about repairing and I told that you don't have to repair them for a looooong time if he used a safespot. But atleast what I understood, he said that when you shoot Karils degrade like if you were hit. I don't really believe this, but I want to be sure should I get Karils when I have 70 def and ranged. So is this true? I haven't heard they do that, but I just want to be sure. October 6, 200619 yr I think any Barrows armor degrades IF you are in *combat* no matter if you hit ore are being hit. Otherwise, rangers and mages would have to much of an advantage, and sets would cost heaps more.

October 6, 200619 yr Yes, the armour degrades if you just shoot with it on. Also Karils does not provide a greater range bonus over black hide, it only has a better mage defense (why you see rangers in castle wars with it on more then in training).
