It should be the drive that is stuck. I.E it should say "CD DRIVE" or "DVD DRIVE" next to it. I don't personly know what your drives are under.

That'll be your hardrives.

 

 

 

It's easy to find out anyway, just right click a drive letter and see if it says 'Eject'.

So your saying that your computer isn't showing the actual drive?... It should be.

Lol. Your cd drive is shot. It's probably a power issue... hence why I asked:

 

"is there a light on it? Is it flashing or lighting up? Sounds like a power issue. Does it make any noise when you push the button? If so it could be one of the plastic gears is cracked / missing teeth."

 

 

 

In the SECOND post of your last topic, and you were so happy to ignore answering it. Now we know the answer.

 

 

 

So either check the connections to assure that the wires didn't get unplugged or fall out some how, if not, your going to need to get a new drive, unless of course, you managed to uninstall your cd drive thru the device manager, though I doubt that.

Adding onto zonda's post which has just about everything you need. It could also be disabled in the BIOS.

 

 

 

So to re-cap.

 

 

 

Check 'Device Manager' (Google it if you don't know where it is.)

 

Check the BIOS (Usually accessed when first booting up the PC by pressing something like 'Del')

 

Check the cables inside the PC (especially the small white-ish one if it doesn't have any lights flashing when you first switch on your PC)

Yea... I was going to add the BIOS one but I didn't see the need, nor did I see the need for the device manager one that I posted anyway. I didn't want to have him messing around in BIOS, if you don't know what your doing you shouldn't mess around in their too much unless your "exit without saving" 'ing. I really doubt he would have had the knowledge to disable it or uninstall it, and doing such a thing accidently is next to near impossible.
