Ard_Choille
Aside from making sure your OS is updated and all Virus/Spyware/Adware scans have been run recently, I'd recommend that you install HijackThis and post a log here. - - My deviantART Page - -

Sharper
3 questions What version of windows do you have What version of IE do you have Why are you using IE Forget the first two, and instead post a HJT log. Do you know anything about Internet Explorer? There is nothing wrong with using it. I've been using Internet Explorer at home and at work for many years as my primary browser, I do not suffer from any usability issues nor any spyware or viruses. I second that. -.- Firefox, Opera and the rest admittedly do protect you against the majority of bad sites (as they're intended for those using IE) but you do know that all browsers have security flaws? Thread starter, you really should give us some feedback. :-k Notoriously Trollish.

Do you know anything about Internet Explorer? There is nothing wrong with using it. I've been using Internet Explorer at home and at work for many years as my primary browser, I do not suffer from any usability issues nor any spyware or viruses. It all depends. If your using it to google the first 13 presidents, sure it works. Even using it to check e-mail is fine as long as your not prone to click on all your junk mail / virus infested emails.... but if your going to be going to semi-dodgy sites, things that are completely legal but still have that loom of "is this safe?" over it... I won't go their without FF. Even I know a few very simple flaws in IE that can completly crash a system Just as an example, at home I use FF, and check a few sites on a regular basis for information and what not, these sites falling under the semi-dodgy catagory. I went to check them at school, where they use IE, and I got a warning from their mcafee about an exploit that downloaded a trojan onto the computer.... Actually, I've been using a host for quite some time, it's a free one so visiting the site gives you a few pop ups. In FF, I never saw these pop ups, I had a friend go to the site to download something the otherday, and not only was he spammed with popups, he too got a virus (didn't saw what) and spyware from just visiting there... needless to say I am dumping that host. Yea, FF has flaws, but thats like comparing a locked car to a locked car inside a locked garage inside of a locked estate with a big gate and mean lookin' gaurd dogs. ...
