At what age does it become inappropriate?

I could see your point, and I can see the kid's mom's point. She could of probably not seen her daughter wave to you, and simply thought it was creepy you were waving at her daughter. I can also see your point. I get scowled at all the time when parent's are holding babies, and the babies are giggling and hiding their faces in their mom's shoulder, to hide from you. I usually laugh and acknowledge it, and get scowled at. (I'm 15, BTW.) So, I can see both sides of the story. I'd wave at the kid even though I know I have an 75% chance of getting scowled at.

You just get over it. Besides your 16 what are you doing on a bike. Get a car lol.

Some people can't afford cars, or are trying to excercise.

I'm glad you just showed your ignorance by assuming that 16 is the legal driving limit everywhere in the world. Do us a favor and quit posting your ignorantly rude comments.

Didn't you ever hear "Don't talk to strangers" growing up?

I was actually thinking about that the other day.. Not talking to strangers would leave us all very lonely.. :-k

I think all you were dealing with is an over-protective parent.. I have 2 of those and they annoy me and the people around me quite a bit. Just forget about that lady and go on with your life. Some people can't handle friendly gestures without finding something bad about it (<- my parents <.< ).

In most countries a 16 year-old wouldn't be able to drive on their own anyways. They would most likely have a graduated license, requiring an adult to accompany them when they drive. I much preferred my bike until I was old enough to drive on my own.

Let's not forget the fact there aren't many people his age who can afford to purchase and insure their own car. He's probably in school, not working full-time. The only 16 year-olds I knew with their own cars got them from their "mommies and daddies", they didn't put a cent towards it themselves.

I know the price. I pay it gladly.

Most European and Asian countries use bikes to cars. That, or they walk.

I'm 16, I have my own car (I get my license in a month), and my parents paid for my car. BUT I have to pay for the insurance starting next spring. My parents are paying for it for now because it has to be stored through the winter.
