ok, so im doing my first ever lvl 3 clue ( \ ) and i go out to the wildy and dig, and this zamorakian mage pops up and starts attacking. i had no armor on, and didnt want to lose my clue so i telled, but i wanna know...

 

 

 

1.) how ard is he? i didnt take note of his lvl

 

2.) im a combat 79, will i need particularly good armor or food for fiting him?

 

3.) how many stages do there tend to be in lvl 3 clues?

usually the mage fight is the last step.. how hard i don't know as i have not had one yet.

Sometimes it's the last step. I know my friend had like 3 more steps after that once, and he had to go back into the wildy to fight another one. All luck I'd say.

 

 

 

The Zamorak Mage is pretty easy if you have protect from magic. Bring a few food items, and maybe a dds or another weapon, and you should be good. Armour doesn't really matter if you have protect from magic.

 

 

 

PS: It's only level 64 or 75.

Ya, he's not last. Any coordinate clue will have a mage gaurding the casket. Zammy mages will be in the wilderness, and the more powerful sara mages everywhere else.

 

 

 

Anyway, to do wilderness ones, take your clue, sextant, spade, watch, chart, and a dragon dagger. With protect inventory prayer, you will only have to drop 2 items if you are attacked. I find the spade and watch are the easiest to replace, so I drop them when in danger.

 

 

 

 

 

Once you get to the treasure, protect mage and dig, and use your special on the mage, then dig up the treasure. If you want, go ahead and drop your spade and watch now so you're safer, or you can go ahead and try to get those out of the wilderness too.

 

 

 

Most importantly, do not open that casket until you are safely out of the wilderness. The last thing you need is to open the casket, and get a nice inventory full of rare and valuable items in the wilderness.

got rune legs, rune axe, 44 natures and 2.1k

You teleported? You shouldn't have, the wizard will re-fight you. If you won't fight him you will not get closer to the rewards. Think about it, it is a good chance of getting 2 rune platebodies, that's about 75K whisl Hi-Alchemy, so Level-3 are meant to be hard.

 

 

 

Anyway I always bring the following:

 

 

 

Zamorak Robe Top and Bottom

 

Shade

 

Watch

 

Sextant

 

Chart

 

20 Sharks (they only cost 20K coins it isn't a big loss)

 

Anti-Fire Shield

 

Random Weapon

 

 

 

Use these and you'll be fine, with 20 sharks protect from magic isn't needed, unless of course you are very low level.

just wear d'hide or use protect from magic and you easly kill him. sara wizards on the other hand *mumbles* stupid posion *mumble*
