[spoiler=Stats:]Updated December 22, 2011:

Total level - 1442 - 170M+ XP , Combat level - 115

Combat skills: Attack - 90, Defence - 99 (24.45m+ XP), Strength - 90, Constitution - 99 (16.42M+ XP) Ranged - 99 (13.32M+ XP), Prayer - 60, Magic - 99 (13.25M+ XP)

Non-Combat skills: Cooking - 99 (13.80M+ XP), Woodcutting - 99 (31.95M+ XP), Fishing - 90, Firemaking - 99 (24.82M+), Crafting - 90, Smithing - 90, Mining - 85, Runecrafting - 60, Dungeoneering - 85

If you want the fastest possible way to get 85 mining, do this:

Go to the busiest worlds, East Varrock Iron Rocks. Stand in the corner iron rocks. With a rune pickaxe, mine those two corner iron rocks nonstop. Since it's a busy world, rocks will spawn very fast so you won't be waiting anything.

From this, there's two options of ore disposal, one being much faster.

The slow way is to just drop all your ores once your inventory is full, and mine again.

The fast way is to give all your full iron ore inventory to runners. What are runners? They're friends or people who will take your full load of iron and bank it after you traded it to them.

Simply put:

Mine full load

Trade full load to runner

Mine full load

Runner banks ores nearby while you're mining.

Once you're full again, the runner will be there waiting for trade.

If you keep doing this and you got multiple runners, you'll practically be mining non-stop, which is very fast xp (30k+ xp/hour). It's pretty obvious you won't keep the ores, but you'll get to rune ores much faster.

Theres a great spot in alkarid mine for iron mining.

There are 3 rocks which you can mine without actually moving.

I recommend filling up 5 rows with iron first, then start repeating a mine 3 drop 3 cycle.

If the iron is going into the 6th row, you can right click left click to drop without moving the mouse, much more convenient.

Also remember to pick up the mith and addy rocks as they spawn, replace the iron in the first 5 and 7th rows until you have a full invo of addy or mith, then bank. Generates a bit of cash which is worth it.
