Sargas
I think...although i am not completely sure, you can only put 30 of any other ore into the blast furnace. Like 224 coal and 30 iron or 30 mith...you get the drift. I am not 100% sure tho.
kdb148
The blast furnace holds 254 coal; the Tip.it guide is wrong. You can only put 28 of an ore in at a time. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
vlad_the_old
The blast furnace holds 254 coal; the Tip.it guide is wrong. You can only put 28 of an ore in at a time. Ahem! I think you will find that if you read the guide it says The furnace will accept up to 224 coal (enough to accompany two packloads of rune ore) from you. It will accept up to 28 (one packload) of each other type of ore (except iron; see below). Your unused coal "balance" is shown in the lower right corner of the bar dispenser menu. All deposited ores are held for you in the furnace indefinitely; they don't expire. The bar dispenser will only hold up to 28 bars - you will not be allowed to make more bars until you remove some finished bars. Be aware of this when adding iron ore. If you have coal in the furnace, up to 28 steel bars will automatically be made, and then up to 28 iron bars will be made. Note that the Blast Furnace has a 100% success rate when smelting iron ore into bars. The normal amount of smelting experience per bar is earned here, the same as using a regular furnace. http://tip.it/runescape/?page=blast_furnace.htm What this means is you can put 56 iron ore in (as long as there is at least 28 coal in there), but you will end up with 28 iron bars and 28 steel bars. If you have no coal in there you can only put in 28 iron ores. Thanks to 4be2jue for the sigs. There are 10 types of people in the world - those that understand binary and those that don't! kdb148
Actually, that's not right. What you can do is put in 27 ores, run them through, then put 28 of a different type of ore in while the freshly made ones are in the dispenser. Then you will have 55 bars in the dispenser. But you cannot get the blast furnace to smelt more than 28 at a time, and you certainly can't get it to accept 56 iron ore at a time. Check out this cool browser gladiator game! I kinda assumed people would realise I meant 28 ores at a time and run it through the smelting process. Was not aware that if you put 28 ores in and ran them through you were unable to put another 28 in. (ie you had to be 1 bar short of a full load in order to be able to add more ore). Will have to try this out and correct the guide if necessary. If it proves the case, will make sure you get a credit for it. Thanks to 4be2jue for the sigs. vlad_the_old
Proof you can fit 56 iron ore in there... I actually had more than the 56 iron in there. I took out some steel bars, ran the smelter again without adding more and the bar dispenser was filled again. I did log out and back in again to see if the ones not showing up would be lost, but they seemed to be fine. (Another player was using the furnace at the time though) Once I got the message telling me I had to take some bars out I could no longer put all the ores on the convayor belt, including coal, but I could put them in one at a time. kdb148
I see. Does that work if you have more than 28 coal in the furnace? Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
