Some sort of filming program?

Someone mentioned one that started with River ... I can't remember the rest. It was two words, first one was River. He said it was free, but way higher quality than HyperCam and could also capture a larger portion of the screen without lagging out and crashing.

Anyone know anything about it?

I've benn using Fraps with World of Warcraft for ages...but the quality isnt really up to par unless you buy the full version.

I have the full version and wanted to use it with RS.

Can you help me out with it? I can't get it to start recording.

I've used Camstudio - http://www.camstudio.org/blog/ - the announcement... 2.2 is dead, hail 3.0 when it arrives)

My best results so far have bee with the Alparysoft lossless codec, but I'll have to try the MSU one mentioned in the blog.

This is the program whai started at Atomixbuttons, then went to Rendersoft (freeware, open source), then got entangled with Ehelp as a registerware 2.1 version that was inferior to 2.0.

Anyway, a quick user review... this program ticks MOST of the boxes for me, but on a 3.2GHz P4, it does run into frame rate issues - capture of the full RS screen is limited to about 10-12 fps, whil the action area only can hit 15 fps (this is 32 bit colour - it's faster in 16 bit).

It is also worth testing the selected capture codec, as it sometimes fails to properly select, though is reliable once working.
